Job Description

BAE Systems is hiring a Director of Operations - Business Services to support our Combat Mission Systems (CMS) business. The Director will strategically lead and drive results through the creation and support of a team responsible for cross-functional delivery of policies & procedures, data analytics, and proposal support. The role will provide expertise in multiple domains while providing leadership to subject matter experts within these areas as part of the Operations Business Services Team. The role will report to the Vice President of Integrated Operations.

  • This position can be based out of York, PA or Louisville, KY
  • The position will work a Hybrid schedule where you will work on average 3 days onsite and 2 days remote each week
  • There may be up to 50% travel to US-based CMS locations

Responsibilities:

Process Compliance & Governance:

  • Ensure full compliance with internal controls, regulatory standards, and industry best practices across all integrated operations activities
  • Implement and standardize integrated operations policies, procedures, and documentation to ensure consistency and audit readiness
  • Support delivery teams with advice on compliance and internal controls questions and concerns
  • Identify and assess potential risks to supply chain operations and develop mitigation strategies

Data & Metrics Development:

  • Develop, monitor, and report on key performance metrics (KPIs), including cost, quality, delivery, inventory turns, lead times, etc.
  • Leverage data analytics to identify trends, drive continuous improvement, and support strategic decision-making

Proposal Team Management:

  • Establish and manage certified supplier pricing programs to ensure cost transparency, consistency, and predictability
  • Develop pricing models and frameworks in collaboration with suppliers and internal stakeholders
  • Ensure Basis of Estimates and sound pricing practices are followed across integrated operations

Leadership & Team Management:

  • Lead and develop a high-performing team, fostering a culture of accountability, innovation, and continuous improvement across all delivery teams
  • Lead the development and implementation of comprehensive supply chain strategies that align with the organization’s business objectives and drive competitive advantage
  • Drive cross-functional collaboration to achieve business objectives and enhance integrated operations responsiveness

Required Education, Experience, & Skills

  • Bachelor's Degree in Operations, Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or a related field and 12 years work experience or equivalent experience
  • Experience in Operations or Supply Chain Management
  • Experience in Production or Procurement Leadership
  • Experience in Defense (DoD) Contracting
  • Experience in People Management/Leadership
  • Experience in Performance Management (KPIs/Metrics/EVM)
  • Ability to develop policies, procedures, and frameworks
  • Ability to ensure compliance with industry regulations and internal controls
  • Ability to influence alignment across multiple delivery teams
  • Ability to lead a transformation and change within integrated teams
  • Strong analytical skills with a data-driven approach to problem-solving
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and stakeholder management skills
  • Proficient in ERP and MRP systems (Oracle) and supply chain software tools

Preferred Education, Experience, & Skills

  • MBA or Advanced Degree
  • Certification: Six Sigma or Lean Manufacturing
  • Experience in FAR/DFAR regulations and Export Control requirements
  • Experience in Defense (DoD) Proposals
  • Experience in Change Management Leadership
  • Experience in Oracle ERP/MRP systems

Pay Information

Full-Time Salary Range: $135556 - $230444

Please note: This range is based on our market pay structures. However, individual salaries are determined by a variety of factors including, but not limited to: business considerations, local market conditions, and internal equity, as well as candidate qualifications, such as skills, education, and experience.
