This position will perform duties as a Classified Cybersecurity Information Systems Security Officer (ISSO) in Huntsville, AL.

The selected candidate will conduct daily cybersecurity operations, auditing, assist in the creation of information system authorization packages, and implement cybersecurity requirements for both classified and unclassified information systems.

Key Responsibilities of this role includes:

  • Oversee day-to-day information system security operations including hardware and software implementations.
  • Carry out technical administration of IS in accordance with internal LM and customer security requirements, primarily Risk Management Framework (RMF).
  • Upkeep, monitor, analyze, and respond to network and security events.
  • Document compliance actions within the approved automated compliance tracking system or develop a plan of actions and milestones (POA&M) with the Information Systems Security Manager (ISSM) to address non-compliance in the allotted time frame.
  • Ensure systems are operated, maintained, and disposed of in accordance with internal security policies and practices outlined in the security plan.
  • Balance competing priorities amongst multiple customers and programs.
  • Auditing is a large part of this role’s responsibility.

Basic Qualifications:

  • Current Secret clearance
  • DOD 8570/8140 IATII certification (e.g, COMPTIA Security+)
  • Knowledge of RMF
  • Proficiency in multiple platforms to include Windows, and Linux/Unix
  • Knowledge of auditing and continuous monitoring

Desired Skills:

  • Demonstrated professional experience supporting Cybersecurity Engineering (CSSE) activities
  • Experience with industry standard Information Assurance tools such as Splunk, SCAP, Nessus
  • Experience hardening Linux and Windows Operating Systems
  • Knowledge of Networking equipment
  • Proficient writing technical documentation
  • Experience with NIST SP 800-37 Risk Management Framework (RMF), NIST SP 800-53 Security and Privacy Controls requirements, and NIST 800-171 Protecting Controlled Unclassified Information in Nonfederal Systems and Organizations
  • Experience developing, reviewing and maintaining RMF artifacts
  • Experience managing and implementing the ATO Lifecyle utilizing eMASS, Xacta, or other technologies

Schedule for this Position: 4x10 hour day, 3 days off per week
