Hours: Sunday through Tuesday 6:00 PM to 6:00 AM Wednesday 6:00 PM to 12:00 AM
Starting pay $22.30/Hr
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS FOR CONSIDERATION:
MUST HAVE AND MAINTAIN A VALID DRIVERS LICENSE AND A CLEAR MOTOR VEHICLE REPORT (MVR)
Successful Candidates must have 3 months continuous work experience with a single employer in the last 12 months.
Must have 6 months of experience operating heavy machinery.
ABILITY TO COMMUNICATE WITH ALL LEVELS OF MANAGEMENT
MUST FOLLOW OPERATIONAL PROCEDURES AND SAFETY RULES
Job Description:
Responsible for the “spotting” and “pulling” of all trailers in and out of the dock doors while following the proper “pull light procedures”. Will make sure that every trailer has a nose stand and that it is properly chocked. Responsibility for Product Protection which includes monitoring temperatures, fuel levels and proper running of the refrigeration units. Responsible for sealing the finished loads and maintaining the integrity of that seal while the trailer is on Tyson property. Will be responsible for maintaining good traffic flow of outside drivers while on Tyson property. Ensure that all trailers for outbound loads are thoroughly washed and sanitized before loading. Responsible for ensuring that the truck yard stays free of debris and trash. Will be responsible for pre-trip inspections on the Shag trucks and ensure that any defects are reported to your Supervisor immediately for repair. Responsible for the cleanliness of the shag trucks on a daily basis. Responsible for ensuring that you abide by all PBX (part of Tyson Foods, Inc.) Shag Procedures and Training. Will be responsible to ensure that “Safety” while operating a shag truck is top priority.
Physical Demands of the Job:
Bending: The drivers will bend while conducting inspections, checking fluid levels, chocking wheels and picking up objects from the ground. Bending is also required to check the fifth wheels.
Lifting: The wheel chocks are lifted force of approximately 65 to 75 pounds.
Pushing/Pulling: Jack stands weigh 130 pounds but are on wheels. They are tilted back and pushed or pulled into position with the upper extremities and back. Wheel chocks are pushed and pulled into place. Forces may be high if the chocks become wedged. The operation of the truck requires pushing and pulling as well. Opening and closing trailer doors are also required and forces can be very high on windy days.
Reaching: The required reach will vary from task to task, ranging from adjacent to the body to the infrequent normal reach span. Most reaching is for controls and the steering wheel in operation of the truck.
Grasping: Bilateral whole hand grasping is required to climb the ladder to gain access to the truck cab and grasping the wheels and controls. Cylindrical whole hand grasp, infrequent pinch grips, palmar grips may all be used during the course of the day when setting chocks and jacks and other duties.
Walking/Standing: The driver will walk to and from the truck and trailer, climb stairs and ladders and or stand and sit throughout the day.
Force: Forces associated with the variety of driver’s task are usually low to moderate and infrequently high.
Work Duty: The work requires occasional to frequent use of bilateral upper extremities and torso. Lower extremities are in frequent use either standing, climbing or walking. Temperatures are seasonal outside and sheltered inside.
