The Leave of Absence Administrator will manage the LOA function between Builders FirstSource and our third-party leave and workers compensation carriers/administrators. In addition, will serve as subject matter expert to team members, managers and HR Partners, as needed.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Serves as primary point of contact providing leave of absence guidance to team members, managers, HR Partners and Payroll.
  • Deliver end-to-end case management and consultative support to team members and managers at while ensuring a strong culture of connection and empathy.
  • Maintain close contact with team members and keep managers and HR leaders informed about expected duration, return to work dates, extensions, etc.
  • Manage the relationship with Builders FirstSource&rsquos third-party administrator to ensure established leave policies are administered correctly and in accordance with federal, state and local requirements for leaves of absence.
  • Calculate leave pay and process benefit earnings in HCM system. Coordinate use of paid leave with PTO and state benefits, when applicable. Research pay-related issues and discrepancies.
  • Collaborate with HR Partners, managers and third-party administrator and facilitate return[1]to-work process. May initiate the interactive process as necessary in collaboration with HR Partners and managers.
  • Ensure team member portion of benefits premiums are collected through monitoring of withholdings or direct billing to team member while on unpaid leave of absence.
  • As requested, analysis, research and reporting on leaves of absence.
  • Identifies opportunities to update or improve procedures and makes recommendations to the Manager TMS or other appropriate cross-functional partners
  • Special projects and other duties as assigned.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES This job has no supervisory responsibilities.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS

  • Bachelor&rsquos degree preferred (or equivalent education and experience)
  • 5 years of relevant work experience in leave of absence administration in large organization (preferably multi-unit)
  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of all applicable leave and accommodation laws including FMLA, ADA and related state and local laws.
  • Knowledge of team member benefits as they relate to leaves of absence, including short/long term disability, COBRA, state disability and other applicable laws.
  • Proficient in MS Office Suite
  • Ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously and to prioritize, thriving in a fast-paced, high volume and collaborative environment
  • Excellent customer service and conflict resolution skills, able to interact with team members at all levels,
  • Able to effectively resolve escalated team member issues
  • Maintain strict confidentiality and adhere to a high standard of professional conduct

In addition to the base wage listed, this position is also eligible to earn an annual bonus subject to changes in plan design and documents and in accordance with applicable law. Eligibility and the amount of the bonus varies based on overall company success, thresholds met and other terms and conditions of the Company&rsquos active bonus policy for the respective year.
