Role Overview:
The Assistant Director position plays a key leadership role within INDOT's Talent Management division, overseeing both the Learning & Development and Learning Technology teams. This position is responsible for driving the agency's learning strategy, designing leadership development programs, and integrating innovative training technologies. The Assistant Director ensures instructional content and systems align with agency goals, supports staff development, and uses data to measure training effectiveness.
In addition to learning strategy, this role manages training budget projections and forecasting, provides leadership and oversight for the Education & License Reimbursement Program, Tuition Assistance, and agency-wide training requests. While the teams reporting to this role manage the day-to-day processing of these programs, the Assistant Director is responsible for strategic guidance, process improvements, and ensuring alignment with policy and organizational priorities. This position also partners closely with HR, leadership, and internal stakeholders to enhance employee performance, support succession planning, and deliver impactful learning experiences across INDOT.

This position is located in INDOT’s Indianapolis Central Office, Talent Management Team.
Salary:
This position traditionally starts at an annual salary of $75,010.00. Salary for this position may be commensurate with education and job experience.
