Job Description

AECOM is actively seeking a highly motivated Architecture Designer III to join our Boston

Architecture studio.

AECOM’s Buildings + Places practice includes architecture, interiors, building engineering,

workplace strategy, business transformation, asset advisory, economics and development

planning, master planning, urban planning, and landscape architecture. With a range of expertise

from strategy and design through project realization, we create better outcomes to grow

economies, protect natural systems, conserve natural resources, make societies more equitable,

and connect and engage people through innovative, sustainable design solutions. Our teams

have worked on signature projects such as the London 2012 Olympic Park and Legacy

Framework, to the new plan for the LA2028

Olympics, to industrial facilities for GE and Rolls-Royce, to headquarters and workplaces for

NASA, Unilever, Sony Music, DirecTV, Box, Inc., and many Fortune 500 companies.

The responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to:

  • Performing basic architectural calculations for spatial design and programming.
  • Preparing designs, drawings, renderings, presentations, specifications, reports, and related materials.
  • Maintaining liaison with design and project management teams across the studio.
  • Preparing, reviewing, and approving drawings as required.
  • Under the direction of the Supervising Architect, may independently perform advanced technical assignments of various complexities.
  • Coordinating technical and administrative activities with staff in other disciplines and departments participating in an assigned project.
  • Assisting in the training and evaluation of assigned architectural and design personnel.
  • Collaborating with senior architects and project managers to develop innovative design solutions for complex architectural projects.
  • Participating in client meetings and presentations to communicate design concepts effectively.
  • Conducting research on building codes, zoning regulations, and sustainability practices to ensure compliance and incorporate best practices into designs.
  • Mentoring junior designers and interns, providing guidance on design techniques and software usage.
  • Contributing to the development of project proposals, including conceptual designs and preliminary cost estimates.
  • Assisting in managing project timelines and deliverables to ensure on-time completion of design phases.
  • Staying current with emerging technologies and design trends in the architecture field, incorporating them into projects when appropriate.

Qualifications

Minimum Requirements:

  • Bachelor of Architecture degree plus 4 years of related experience or demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or education

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Master's degree in Architecture
  • 5 years of experience as an Architect or Architectural Designer on a variety of building types
  • Ability to become a licensed architect in the future
  • Experience with Adobe Suite , Autodesk Revit, Enscape, Rhino and SketchUp
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Power Point)

Offered compensation will be based on location and individual qualifications. The expected range is $80,000.00 - $125,000.00
