Fiji Program Support Platform (FPSP)

Program Overview:

FPSP, also referred to as the ‘Platform’, a Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade (DFAT) investment, will contribute to the delivery of Fiji’s national development priorities, in line with the Australia’s International Development Policy, the Fiji-Australia Vuvale Partnership and the Development Partnership Plan.

The Platform will deliver key bilateral programs, such as health, education, scholarships, social infrastructure, governance, climate and emergency preparedness and response. Platform activities will identify and address climate risks, promote climate action, and gender equality, disability and social inclusion (GEDSI) across and beyond the sector programs.

The Platform has three functional Outcomes:

  1. The Platform has delivered its sector program outcomes, including through supporting strategic coherence, planning, partnerships management, data and learning across the portfolio of investments.
  2. The Platform has prioritised gender equality, disability-inclusive development, and climate and disaster resilience, in its systems and practices. This includes in how it undertakes sector programming and its engagement with selected Government of Fiji (GoF) agencies
  3. The Platform administers timely and efficient programming that is: value for money; maximises use of local supply chains; and supports good governance, and public diplomacy, effective decision making and risk management.

Position Summary

The Senior GEDSI Coordinator will report to the GEDSI & Safeguarding Manager to support implementation of the FPSP GEDSI Strategy and Action Plan. They will contribute to the implementation, monitoring and reporting of GEDSI objectives as well as provide advice and support to strengthen integration of GEDSI analysis and practices across the Platform and sector programs.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and support implementation of the FPSP GEDSI Strategy and Action Plan.
  • Engage with and support partner organisations representing women, persons with disabilities and other marginalised or vulnerable groups to strengthen their inclusion in program activities.
  • Collaborate with Performance, Learning and Communication Hub to implement monitoring, evaluation and learning processes to monitor GEDSI program outcomes.
  • Develop GEDSI orientation training materials, including minimum orientation training for all staff and specialised training for sector program staff.
  • Contribute to analysis of stakeholder and activity risk assessments, management and mitigation strategies to ensure a Do No Harm approach.
  • Provide technical support to the Safeguarding Specialist to conduct safeguarding (child protection, PSEAH and fraud) risk assessments, develop corrective action plans and implement mitigation measures to ensure compliance across all safeguarding areas.
  • Maintain an up to date GEDSI tracker and information database to document GEDSI practice.
  • Contribute to GEDSI focused communication and advocacy within the Platform and with partners.
  • Assist with the preparation of any reports.
  • Participate in internal and external audits on CP, PSEAH and fraud compliance.
  • Liaise with Abt Head office in application of CP, PSEAH processes where necessary.
  • Other duties as requested by GEDSI & Safeguarding Manager.

Selection Criteria:

  • Degree graduate in relevant field (gender/women’s studies, social work, public policy).
  • 3+ years working in related role, preferably in international development.
  • Knowledge and experience in gender equality and disability inclusion.
  • Understanding of computer operating systems, hardware and software
  • Problem Solving skills.
  • Strong written and communication skills.
