Senior Strategy Analyst – Seller Operations (Shopee)

The Operation teams at Shopee covers the operational end-to-end process, from when the buyer searches for a product listed on the Shopee platform, to the moment the buyer receives the products. The team analyses and monitors operational KPIs across the region and conducts root cause analysis when operation performance fluctuates. The Operations team comprises Customer Service, Payment, Listings, Warehouse, Logistics, Seller Operations and Fraud.

Shopee’s Marketplace Operations department is constantly solving problems and introducing innovative solutions to improve platform usability and enhance end-user experience for our buyers, sellers, and partners.

Our teams sit at the core of our business and collaborate with various departments to manage end-to-end e-commerce processes and design scalable solutions to drive impact for our business. To do so, we deeply dive into the fundamentals of each aspect and drive strategic initiatives to sharpen our policy, processes, and features for greater product and operational excellence.

Job Description:

  • Optimize Seller Ops Strategy: Monitor and analyse seller performance metrics (e.g., fulfilment & shipping, penalty policy, seller programs) to identify areas for improvement. Proactively work with sellers and enablers to drive performance improvements and enhance platform policies
  • Solve Real-world Problem: Take ownership of complex seller-related issues and work with cross-functional teams to resolve them in a timely and efficient manner
  • Ops excellence with AI & Automation: Optimize seller operations by identifying process inefficiencies, implementing automation, and introducing best practices. Act as a subject matter expert on operational processes and policies
  • Cross-functional Collaboration: Collaborate with internal teams such as product, engineers, and local markets to address seller-related issues and deliver solutions that enhance the seller experience
  • Data-Driven Insights: Use data analytics to monitor trends, identify performance gaps, and develop actionable insights to optimize seller operations

Requirements:

  • Relevant Degree in Business, Engineering, or a related field
  • Minimum 3 years’ working experience in management consulting, experience in a technology company is a plus
  • Proficiency in analytical thinking, critical reasoning, and problem-solving
  • Exceptional stakeholder management skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with teams from diverse markets and backgrounds
  • Proven ability to work collaboratively with various stakeholders in a dynamic and multicultural environment
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage and influence stakeholders at all levels.
  • Ability to apply analytical thinking with strong interest in working with large data sets
  • Experience/proficiency in SQL and/or excel is required
  • Ability to thrive in a dynamic and collaborative environment
