WHAT YOU WILL BE DOING
Job Purpose
Reporting into the National Contract Hire Manager, the key purpose of this role is to develop incremental Contract Hire sales in conjunction with HCUK and our OEM partners’ strategy both direct and through the franchised dealer networks. The role will focus on developing the network’s Contract Hire capability to drive Business Contract Hire (BCH) sales funded by HCUK and that of any other new products or channels in the fleet business. Intrinsic to the role is the promotion of HCUK’s Contract Hire (CH) products, its value proposition and sound stakeholder management at all levels. The role of Business Development Manager – Contract Hire will be to represent HCUK brands as required in the Midlands territory.
Key Accountabilities

Under the guidance of line management, develop a sustainable and profitable business relationship with all allocated dealers, with specific focus on:
2. Planning
Develop a segmented quarterly activity plan, agreed by the National Contract Hire Manager; detailing visit schedules, key focus areas during these visits and dealer agreed action plans based upon the joint strategic goals. These actions should be recorded using ‘The HUB’.
3. Budgetary control
Deliver the annual sales plan in line with the prescribed volume and profit requirements through on-going review, development and monitoring of opportunity within your area with your line manager.
4.Stakeholder engagement
Establish a sound working relationship with all dealers within your region at the appropriate level, as well HCUK internally, OEM counterparts, SCUK and the Contract Hire service provider as appropriate. A close working relationship with Underwriting (both HCUK internal and SCUK) will be essential.
5. People development
Working with HCUK’s assets, your expertise and that of the Contract Hire Team, essential to this role is knowledge sharing with and skills development of your dealers. Regularly review learnings/gaps to shape future training, to underpin incremental CH sales and dealer performance for both conquest and renewal opportunities.
6. Business development
Working in conjunction with line management, develop a clear understanding of Contract Hire channels, support levels, prospective and existing customers. Use this information to strategise conquest customers and retention to maximise sales and loyalty with HCUK and its OEM partners.
7. Competitor Activity
Provide regular feedback on competitor activity both within your region and nationally to assist in the development of new campaigns and strategies.
8. Customer retention program
Support Contract Hire retention initiatives by ensuring timely and comprehensive dealer activity and accurate feedback within your region.
Assist in shaping the customer renewal programs through providing regular feedback to management.
8. Risk and Compliance
In line with the company’s risk and compliance statement of responsibility and objectives, identify risks, incidents and breaches, in accordance with company policies and department procedures.
Ensure all activity, including personal data usage, advertising and communication content, are compliant from a legal, regulatory and business perspective.
Manage and motivate dealers to offer a compliant sales process which gives customers an adequate product explanation, a Treating Customers Fairly focus, to adopt a regulated complaints handling procedure and to carry out other compliance tasks as requested.
