This Position reports to:

Senior Engineering Manager

Your role and responsibilities

In this role, you will have the opportunity to manage a team of engineers to deliver high quality, cost effective, and timely engineering solutions to customers. Each day, you will formulate plans and allocate resources to meet the agreed contractual and financial targets. You will also showcase your skills by initiating, coordinating, driving, and overseeing team development and continual improvement of processes and procedures to strengthen the engineering and design capability.

This role is contributing to the Process Automation business for Energy Industries division based in Bangalore, India

You will be mainly accountable for:

• Providing directions to the engineering team with a focus on functional safety, on time delivery, quality.
• Ensuring the projects are executed in compliance with internal standards and that the projects are closed as per the contract specifications.
• Initiating, coordinating, facilitating, and overseeing continual improvement of processes and procedures to strengthen the engineering/design capability and efficiency.
• Build and maintain strong customer relationships, seek feedback, and provide innovative solutions to meet customer requirements and drive improvements.
• Organize, staff, skill, and direct your area of responsibility with HR support.
• Ensure engineering teams are adequately resourced, developed, and equipped to meet business needs.
• Conduct regular progress reviews, identify, and manage technical risks.

Qualifications for the role

• Minimum 12 years of design, engineering, testing, commissioning and consulting experience of Control and Safety Systems in oil & gas production / refining / petrochemical / pharmaceutical industry.
• BE /B Tech (Instrumentation / Electronics / Electrical)
• Experience in managing cross-functional teams. TUV Functional Safety Engineer Certification (or equivalent).
• Working knowledge of the Safety Lifecycle and ability to complete safety assessments.
• Working knowledge of IEC61508 and IEC61511.
• Proficiency in Safety System design, application programming, hardware design, and HMI graphics development.
• Experience in safety system hardware inspection, FAT, SAT, loop checks, start-up and commissioning.
