Tetra Tech is seeking a bilingual (Spanish speaking) community relations specialist with 1-2 years experience to provide community relations support on the New Jersey Zinc/Mobile Chemical Corporation Superfund Site located in DePue, Bureau County, Illinois. This is a part-time position for an individual with strong community outreach background providing community relations support in the areas of soil sample collection and removal/remedial action. Candidates must live within commuting distance of this location. Applicants outside this area will not be considered. NO relocation is being offered.
Work will include supporting the soil sample collection and removal/remedial action activities for the project by staffing the community relations field office (location TBD) approximately 4 - 5 hours per day, M-F and conducting the following activities:
Qualified candidates with have 1 to 2 years of experience working with the public and community outreach experience. Excellent written and oral communication skills and experience with Microsoft software including Word, Excel and PowerPoint. Must be self-motivated with a can-do attitude, able to multi-task, and works well in team environment. 1 to 2 years experience working with the public.
Candidate must possess strong written and oral communication skills in English and Spanish. Must also be highly motivated with a can-do attitude, and work well in a team environment as well as on their own. Must be able to multi-task. Proficiency with Microsoft Products including Word, Excel and PowerPoint also required. Must work well with the public and various groups. Must be able to attend night meetings when required. High school degree with some college preferred.
