JOB SUMMARY: We are seeking an experienced and motivated Integrations Specialist to join our team as a full-time employee. This role is focused on designing, developing, and maintaining critical healthcare data exchanges. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in healthcare data standards, such as X12, FHIR, and HL7, and proven experience setting up and managing data interfaces between disparate systems. This position requires a deep understanding of scripting, automation, relational databases, and server management to ensure seamless and secure data flow.

- Design, build, and maintain robust and scalable healthcare data exchange interfaces using industry-standard protocols (e.g., X12, FHIR, HL7, SFTP) and third-party data exchange platforms (Redox).
- Develop and implement scripts to automate data integration processes, improving efficiency and reliability.
- Manage and administer relational database management systems (RDBMS) to support data exchange activities, including writing queries and ensuring data integrity.
- Oversee server environments where integrations are hosted, ensuring high availability, security, and performance.
- Collaborate with internal teams and external healthcare partners to analyze business requirements, define integration specifications, and troubleshoot data exchange issues.
- Create and maintain comprehensive documentation for all integrations, data mappings, and system configurations.
- Adhere to best practices for data security and compliance within a healthcare environment.
- Collaborate directly with the IT Engineering Director to review project tasks, scope, and progress.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- At least 5 years of hands-on experience working with healthcare data interchange standards. Demonstrated hands-on experience in setting up and managing healthcare data exchanges from conception to implementation.
- Intermediate knowledge of relational database management systems (e.g., MS SQL Server, PostgreSQL) and proficiency in writing complex SQL queries.
- Solid understanding of and experience with server management (Windows and/or Linux).
- Ability to work independently to analyze requirements, design solutions, and deliver high-quality integrations while meeting project deadlines.
- Knowledge of managing SFTP (or similar) third-party tools and servers.
- Strong understanding of security controls and concepts related to data protection and access.
- Exceptional problem-solving and analytical skills, with the ability to quickly identify critical issues and deliver effective, data-driven solutions under pressure.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with proven ability to clearly articulate complex technical concepts to technical and non-technical stakeholders.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, MIS, Informatics, or a related field.
- Scripting: Proficiency in one or more scripting languages (PowerShell, Python, Bash) for automation and administrative tasks is highly preferred. tasks.
- Cloud: Experience with cloud platforms such as Azure or AWS.
- Source Control: Experience in version control systems such as Git.
- Integration Platforms: Familiarity with integration engines (e.g., Mirth Connect, Rhapsody).
- Monitoring & Reporting: Experience using industry-standard monitoring tools to track system health, utilization, and performance metrics in mission-critical settings.
- Disaster Recovery: Experience with backup, disaster recovery, and high-availability configurations tailored for healthcare enterprises involved in data exchange.
- Compliance: Familiarity with healthcare compliance standards and best practices for securing healthcare data in multi-state, high-availability operational environments.
- Certifications: Relevant vendor certifications are highly desirable.
TRAINING REQUIREMENTS:

Initial salary increases are tied to these certifications, with a minimum four-month gap between each raise to ensure fairness and foster steady career growth. The selected candidate will be excluded from annual cost-of-living adjustments until the successful completion of the following certifications.

- Upon completing the final requirement, the selected candidate’s job title changes to Integration Engineer.
WORK ENVIRONMENT:
- Work Hours: This is a full-time position with a standard 40-hour work week. Flexibility may be required to accommodate key meetings or urgent project needs.
- Remote Work: This role is 100% remote. The employee should have a reliable internet connection and a suitable remote work environment.
- Communication: The employee will interact with the team using provided communication channels (email, video conferencing, project management tools). Regular virtual meetings will be scheduled to facilitate team coordination and status reporting.
