Quality Assurance Engineer, Senior

The Opportunity: 

When a user tries a new system, they expect it to be intuitive and run smoothly. Functionality, reliability, and user experience are key to successful information systems—and that means rigorous testing. That’s why we need you, an experienced quality assurance analyst who knows how to thoroughly test software and ensure that our team releases the best system possible. As a quality assurance expert, you’ll work with testers, developers, and engineers on a team that evaluates developed systems for an IT modernization effort. You’ll develop and implement manual and automated testing scripts based on application functional requirements and help provide technical leadership and direction to our testing team.

Using a modern automated test framework, you’ll generate problem resolutions and track quality assurance standards to observe how the system performs, then document the results and communicate defects to the development team so they can start improving the tool. You’ll expand upon your experience in various types of testing, including manual, automation, usability, user acceptance testing, and testing process improvement. This is an opportunity to broaden your skills in documenting and solving system deficiencies as well as leading and mentoring others. You Have:

  • 6+ years of experience testing or developing software applications, including functional, integration, regression, and performance testing
  • 6+ years of experience with testing frameworks such as Selenium
  • Experience designing and executing test scripts, test plans, and procedures and documenting the expected and actual results
  • Experience creating and updating automated test cases or scripts
  • Experience integrating test frameworks with CI/CD pipelines
  • Experience with test methodologies, software release cycle, test effort estimation, and tracking
  • Experience with Linux or UNIX environments
  • Experience generating and managing test data
  • Top Secret clearance
  • Bachelor’s degree in CS

Nice If You Have:

  • Experience with programming in Python, JavaScript or Java
  • Experience with Load or Performance testing
  • Experience testing Cloud-based architectures
  • Experience with an Agile release methodology
  • Experience in backend testing, API testing, UI testing, and DB queries
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced and collaborative team environment
  • Possession of excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
  • TS/SCI clearance with a polygraph
  • Master’s degree in CS or a technical-related field

Applicants selected will be subject to a security investigation and may need to meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information; Top Secret clearance is required.

Salary at Booz Allen is determined by various factors, including but not limited to location, the individual’s particular combination of education, knowledge, skills, competencies, and experience, as well as contract-specific affordability and organizational requirements. The projected compensation range for this position is $81,800.00 to $186,000.00 (annualized USD). The estimate displayed represents the typical salary range for this position and is just one component of Booz Allen’s total compensation package for employees.
