Senior UI Designer – HR People Enablement Team - 12 month Fixed Term Contract

People Enablement, within Everyday People Services (EPS), is focused on enabling our people and leaders to make decisions that are informed by accurate, reliable, and relevant insights, and able to confidently and easily take actions that reflect the behaviour we need to pursue excellence across our organisation. This includes focusing on our strategic priorities of HR’s ongoing digital transformation and process optimisation activities, enabling effective, self-service HR solutions for employees, leaders, and key stakeholders across the Group; signature HR processes; and operating model embedding. These simpler, better people initiatives make it faster for people to complete their HR transactions, ensuring they’re in the best position to look after our customers.

This role will report into the Chapter Area Lead of People Enablement and be hands on in a squad (or team) delivering exciting initiatives.

To be successful in this role, you need to be a passionate HR professional with experience working across a broad range of HR projects in hands-on delivery roles with responsibility for developing and delivering the end-to-end engagement approach and activities and where you have utilised your well-developed stakeholder management skills and communication skills. You’ll be passionate about leveraging technology and AI to design and build engaging and seamless employee experiences.

Role Overview:

We’re looking for a UI Designer who’s passionate about creating thoughtful, intuitive digital experiences that enhance how our people engage with HR products. You’ll design responsive and native interfaces that simplify interactions and elevate the employee experience across the digital platforms and channels they use every day.

With deep expertise in design systems and a user-first mindset, you’ll collaborate across HR, tech, and business teams to deliver solutions that are grounded in insight, co-created with

employees, and aligned with our strategic people priorities. If you’re energised by the potential of AI to transform HR and excited to shape meaningful digital experiences, we’d love to hear from you.

You will work closely with our UX designers and front-end engineers to design user interfaces ensuring beautifully crafted and seamless experiences across our digital assets. Your ability to craft polished interfaces, communication and collaboration with our wider design community and sound business acumen will set you up for success in this role.

We're interested in hearing from people who can:

  • Design world class human centred experiences across both native and responsive experiences
  • Collaborate with other designers to define the problem space, translate design solutions into working prototypes and finished user interfaces
  • Mentor and grow design peers and more broadly across the HR community
  • Actively present at design playback sessions to increase visibility and confidence of initiatives
  • Contribute to the creation of scalable design systems and experience standards that ensure consistency, accessibility, and effectiveness across HR services
  • Stay current on emerging technologies, tools and trends in AI, people analytics and UX, and bring those insights into our design approach
  • Demonstrate highly developed user interface, interaction and visual design skills
  • Utilise their exceptional design skills in Figma & the Adobe Suite of programs
  • Demonstrate experience creating functional, high-fidelity prototypes
  • Have a curious mindset with an aptitude and passion for learning new skills in user experience, content, research and coding
  • Confidently communicate with technical and engineering teams to handover and QA final execution with quality.
  • Strong people and stakeholder analysis skills, adept at building and maintaining relationships with stakeholders and communicating effectively – including the confidence to push back and challenge to ensure we deliver the best experience for our people
  • Strong written skills including the ability to build change governance / senior leader packs
  • Strong presentation skills to communicate effectively and deliver and facilitate training / workshops and other presentations
  • Strong attention to detail, creativity, and problem-solving skills
  • Sound understanding of change methodologies (ie Prosci)
  • A curiosity to interrogate existing processes and systems, and the confidence to ask “Should we..?” to encourage reflection, informed decision-making, innovation, and continuous improvement
  • Strong business analysis skills, with experience in measuring and reporting success of activity through tracking appropriate metrics and making data-driven recommendations to improve adoption
  • The ability to take initiative and work independently and work positively and thrive in an ambiguous and fast-paced environment, being comfortable with moving timelines, project scope and switching between projects and tasks, and achieve desired outcomes
  • Tertiary qualification in Human Resources, UI Design, Change Management, Communications, Process Improvement, Business or related discipline or equivalent experience required
