Colwen’s Interior designer is responsible for supporting the Design Manager and Senior designer in all aspects of the design process, from the beginning stages through final installation. In this role, you will work collaboratively with the designers, project managers and purchasing team to oversee hospitality and multi-family projects. This includes executing CD sets in Revit, developing finish schedules, implementing design concepts from ownership, reviewing shop drawings and managing furniture matrices, etc. As part of this position, you will take the lead on select projects, working independently while receiving guidance and support from the Design Manager. You will also have the opportunity to support the growth of the Junior Interior Designer and Interns. Success in this role hinges on exceptional time management, strong organizational abilities and attention to detail.

Design Responsibilities
- Drafting, modeling and CD sets
- Creating millwork shop drawings in Revit
- Coordinating the finish schedules and distribution plans
- Selecting finishes, lighting, furniture
- Developing concept and design presentations
- Create 2D/3D Renderings for owner review
- Creating project presentation boards
- Organize documentation for hotel brand approvals
- Assist in reviewing millwork, lighting and furniture shop drawings
- Participate and present in design reviews and charettes
- Source new and innovative project materials
Additional Responsibilities
- Monitor project schedules to ensure timelines are met and milestones are achieved
- Conduct site visits as needed to oversee construction progress and verify finish installations
- Manage project details throughout the Construction Administration (CA) phase
- Mentor and support the growth of Interns and Junior Designers by guiding them through the design process and reviewing their work
- Communicate with vendors and the purchasing team to gather preliminary pricing and review quotes
Qualifications
- Degree in Interior Design or Architecture from an accredited program
- A minimum of 3 years of experience in the Interior Design industry
- Revit experience is required
- Detail oriented, highly meticulous, passion for the industry
- Ability to work collaboratively and positive attitude
- Strong communication and presentation skills in Adobe and Microsoft Suites
- Confidence to take initiative and communicate directly with our architectural and project management team
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Additional information
- This is a hybrid position working from both our Medford, MA and Portsmouth, NH locations. With option for 1 remote day per week.
- Core work hours are Monday - Friday 8 AM-5 PM
