General Summary

The Project Manager is responsible for coordinating and executing technology and business initiatives across Potbelly’s enterprise. This role works closely with cross-functional teams—including stakeholders, product teams, and external vendors—to ensure successful delivery of projects on time, within scope, and on budget. The Project Manager plays a key role in aligning delivery efforts with business priorities, while managing risk, team collaboration, and communications across departments.

Responsibilities

  • Coordinate and lead planning and execution of business and technology initiatives on time and within scope.
  • Translate business goals into project plans with scope, schedules, and measurable outcomes.
  • Facilitate collaboration across product, engineering, operations, business, and vendor teams.
  • Serve as a key liaison for stakeholders, communicating status and aligning expectations.
  • Track project progress and manage changes in scope or schedule.
  • Apply Agile, Scrum, or hybrid methodologies to suit team needs.
  • Support sprint planning, reviews, and retrospectives in collaboration with product teams.
  • Coordinate user acceptance testing, training, and rollout for smooth transitions.
  • Maintain documentation for project artifacts and lessons learned.
  • Contribute to ongoing improvements in project delivery processes.
  • Effective and timely communication of project status, risks, issues, key decisions to stakeholders
  • Escalation and communication of medium to high risks, issues, and required key decisions to Project Management leadership

Education & Certification

  • Bachelor’s degree in IT, Business, or related field.
  • PMP, CSM, or equivalent certification preferred.

Experience

  • 3–5 years of experience managing projects in a technology or product setting.
  • Background as a Product Owner, Scrum Master, or Business Analyst is a plus.
  • Proficient with Jira or Azure Dev Ops, Smartsheet, Confluence, or Microsoft Project.
  • Experienced in Agile and Waterfall delivery frameworks.

  • Empathetic leadership and a proactive mindset.
  • Organized, detail-oriented, and able to manage ambiguity.
  • Effective time management and problem-solving abilities.

Physical & Work Requirements

  • 40–50 hours/week with flexibility for high-priority projects.
  • Remote-friendly; occasional travel to HQ or vendor sites.
  • Must participate in virtual collaboration across time zones.
