Job Description

Job Summary:

Creates, develops, plans, writes, and edits operational, instructional, maintenance or test procedures for paper, multimedia, or web-based publication in both collaborative and independent environments. This position conducts interviews with various users and technical staff to gather data for documentation. Researches and translates technical information/photos/video into manuals and/or web-based documents for nontechnical users and may also document engineering processes and specifications. This position is of limited complexity.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Organize material and complete writing assignment according to set standards regarding order, clarity, conciseness, style, and terminology.
  • Maintain records and files of work and revisions
  • Edit, standardize, or make changes to material prepared by other writers or establishment personnel.
  • Confer with internal customer representatives, , subject matter experts, plant executives, or publishers to establish technical specifications and to determine subject material to be developed for publications.
  • Learn to use Professional concepts and works on problems of limited scope.
  • Applies company policies and procedures to resolve routine issues.
  • Follows standard practices and procedures in analyzing situations or data from which answers can be readily obtained.
  • Generate and edit photographs, videos, drawings, sketches, diagrams, and charts to illustrate material.
  • Leverages creative and technical abilities to deliver engaging documentation.
  • Other tasks as assigned by supervisor

Education and/or Experience:

Bachelor's degree (B.A.) from four-year college or university in a related disciplines and 5 years minimum of directly related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Other Essential Duties:

  • Follows all import/export requirements, consulting with facility import/export personnel as required.
  • Working knowledge of Lean Manufacturing/6 Sigma/Kaizen
  • Familiarity with ERP systems
  • Multi-media skills desirable (Photoshop, video editing)
