Position Summary

The Director of Simulation is the administrative officer responsible for all simulation-based education (SBE) within the College of Nursing. This individual provides visionary leadership for the College’s nursing programs across the state of Nebraska to utilize simulation as a teaching and learning modality to achieve student learning outcomes. The Director oversees the design, implementation, evaluation and revisions of all SBE initiatives at

the College in collaboration with faculty, simulation staff, research teams, and healthcare professionals ensuring evidence-based practice, standards, and guidelines are integrated throughout.

• Demonstrated experience in using sound instructional design principles when interacting with faculty and staff to ensure effective skills training delivery.

Current knowledge and operation of simulation modalities

• Demonstrated leadership, managerial, and interpersonal skills

Preferred Education: Doctoral degree

Doctoral degree in nursing preferred (DNP, EdD, PhD)

Preferred Experience:

• Formalized simulation training (e.g. fellowship, simulation education courses, professional workshops)
• Leadership role in simulation organizations
• Evidence of simulation scholarship
• Clinical experience within last 10 years
