What Makes a FirstCash IT Project Manager II?
The IT Project Manager II leads all phases of multiple projects from initiation through deployment, ensuring each is executed successfully and delivers approved requirements on time. This role requires a results-driven leader capable of managing complex, concurrent initiatives while working within a defined project framework and leveraging experience and strategic judgment to achieve objectives.
Acting as the central liaison between business stakeholders and technology teams, the IT Project Manager II translates business goals and vision into actionable plans, facilitating collaboration and alignment. They are also responsible for analyzing tradeoffs between application usability and performance to ensure that project outcomes balance technical feasibility with business needs. This role demands strong communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills to drive projects to successful completion.

Essential Job Duties:
- Must have worked on software development related projects that follow an SDLC and change process.
- Must have worked in banking or loan industry with understanding of regulatory requirements.
- Must have technical understanding of POS systems, video, network, telephony, and infrastructure installs.
- Work with multiple groups/teams within our organization, as well as external vendors.
- Take ownership over project scope, timeline and budget, and hold the project resources accountable for their responsibilities.
- Drive and manage priority projects using SDLC and Waterfall or Agile project framework.
- Design project plans/schedules and tracks all milestones for implementation of new products, functionality and services.
- Review all project deliverables and ensure adherence to quality standards set by project governance.
- Be proactive and self-sufficient in managing risks, action items, dependencies and issues, with an understanding of when to escalate to the management team.
- Identify appropriate internal and external resource requirements and develop the project schedule to ensure timely completion to meet the project’s goals.
- Work with functional managers and other project team members to determine mitigation plans, as appropriate.
- For projects involving external vendors, manage contractor resources in areas of design, development, consulting, etc.
- Encourages respect and collaboration among all project team members.
- Present weekly project updates to the Technology leadership team and status reports to the business community.
- Work closely with second and third level Business Systems Analyst, Project Managers, Infrastructure, and Support teams to ensure all process evaluations, requirements-gathering, system analysis, high level design and any other necessary project requirements are properly executed and documented.
- Coordinate with business partners to ensure User Acceptance testing is comprehensive and all requirements are approved for production deployment following change request processes.
Team Leadership and Management:
- Has no direct or indirect reports.
- Work under some general direction.
- Independently determines and develops approach to solutions.
- Participates in determining objectives of assignments.
- Plan schedules and work activities in accomplishing objectives.
- Work is reviewed upon completion for adequacy in meeting objectives.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree, or equivalent, plus a minimum of 2+ years related experience.
- Highly proficient in MS-Office suite, including Office365, SharePoint, Microsoft Project, Excel, and Visio.
- Technical background as it relates to bank loan products, POS systems, video, network, telephony, and infrastructure installations.
- Experience managing software development and infrastructure projects related to in-house systems, accounting and bank products, hardware configurations, and other business and/or regulatory type effort.
- Excellent leadership, problem solving and time management skills.
- Excellent written/oral communication and facilitation skills. Verbal and written communication skills and the ability to interact professionally with a diverse group of executives, managers, and subject matter experts.
- Ability to multi-task, elicit cooperation and communicate to all levels of management and all departments within the organization.
- Exercises good judgment and understanding of dependencies across multiple projects.
- Must be detailed oriented, very organized, and capable of pushing back when deliverables do not meet the quality we expect, or delays threaten the project timeline.
- Must be a motivated, forward-thinking individual who is able to work with minimal supervision.
- Ability to adapt to a changing environment and meet aggressive deadlines.
- Ability to multi-task several assignments and projects at one time.
Preferred/Bonus Skills:
- Experience with SDLC and Waterfall or Agile development preferred.
- Project Management Institute certification - Project Management Professional (PMP) and/or Agile Certified Practitioner (ACP) preferred, but not required.
- Bi-lingual a plus, but not required.
