We currently have an exciting opportunity for a Quality Engineer for CMM PC-DMIS programming to join our QA department within the ASI Division.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Performs Coordinate Measurement Machine (CMM) Off-line Programming using PC-DMIS CMM Software.
  • Works independently to produce CMM programs that are efficient and accurate to the CAD models provided or blueprint.
  • Assist CMM Quality Inspectors with CMM Operations, analyzes CMM output and validates CMM programs.
  • Reviews drawings and has a high level of knowledge and understanding of GD&T.
  • Maintains the CMM programs tracker and prioritizes work based on the customer requirements and backlog report.
  • Communicate discrepancies with Engineering and other internal groups. Analyzes design reliability and quality to recommend process changes and enhancements to improve products and reduce costs.
  • Implements methods and procedures for inspection, testing and evaluation of products.
  • May perform part inspection, as required.
  • Generates nonconformance, material rejections and corrective action reports.
  • Supports CMM maintenance and calibration processes including coordination of the technical team support on site and follow up.
  • May need to support CMM related activities with suppliers.
  • May need to support PC-DMIS programs for the Roamer Arm and Blue Light Scanner, if needed.
  • Responsible for observing all laws, regulations, and other applicable obligations when business is conducted on behalf of the Company.
  • Expected to work in a safe manner in accordance with established operating procedures and practices.

Job Qualifications:

  • Typically requires a bachelor's or master's degree in engineering or related discipline. May substitute equivalent experience in lieu of education.
  • Must be proficient in Coordinate Measurement Machine (CMM) Off-line Programming using PC-DMIS CMM Software.
  • Must be able to perform complex CMM set-up and inspection of machined parts with no direction.
  • Must have a high level of knowledge and understanding of GD&T.
  • Ability to read, interpret and explain engineering drawings and sketches.
  • In-depth knowledge of inspection equipment including ability to use good judgment and safe practices.
  • Analytical ability to develop solutions to routine and non-routine quality issues and the skills required to present these solutions to internal contacts.
  • Knowledge of computer operations and applications.
  • Strong interpersonal and written communication skills to interface with peers and management.
  • Able to work both independently and in a team environment is essential.
  • Able to work extended hours as required.

Salary:$68,770 - $116,193
