What You Will Do:

The NDT Level III Technician is responsible for leading and performing advanced nondestructive testing (NDT) in support of manufacturing operations for turbine airfoils. This individual ensures inspection compliance with customer, industry, and internal standards, supports the development and maintenance of NDT techniques and procedures, and acts as technical authority in NDT-related matters on the production floor.

Responsibilities:

  • Serve as the onsite technical expert for all NDT methods used, including fluorescent penetrant (PT) and/or X-ray (DRM)
  • Certify and oversee NDT Level 1 and Level II personnel, ensuring compliance with NDTQ.
  • Develop, approve, and maintain NDT procedures, techniques, and inspection instructions for airfoils components.
  • Interpret and evaluate NDT results to identify discontinuities and ensure product integrity meets specification.
  • Perform and document advanced NDT inspections as needed for in-process, final and audit purposes.
  • Interface with Quality, Engineering, and Manufacturing teams to support defect investigations, root cause analysis, and corrective actions.
  • Maintain proper calibration and control of NDT equipment and materials.
  • Provide technical guidance during process audits and participate in customer and regulatory audits as needed.
  • Support continuous improvement initiatives in quality and inspection processes.

Qualifications You Must Have:

  • Current NDT Level III certification in at least one method (RT/DR) in accordance with NAS 410 or ASNT SNT-TC-1A/CP-189
  • Minimum 5 years of hands-on NDT experience
  • Experience interpreting engineering drawings, specifications, and standards
  • Ability to work independently and communicate effectively across departments.

Qualifications We Prefer:

  • Strong understanding of turbine airfoil geometry, materials, and manufacturing processes
  • Hands-on experience working with turbine airfoils.
  • Familiarity with digital radiography systems and image analysis tools.
  • Strong problem-solving and documentation skills
