The Capital Projects and Construction (CPC) unit is part of the Office of Planning, Construction and Real Estate. CPC oversees all renovation and construction projects on campus. Our team works with campus clients on projects from the conception and design phases, through permitting and estimates, and on through bidding, construction, and final occupancy.
At CPC we manage projects of all sizes from painting a room, to an office renovation, to new building construction. We maintain comprehensive collection of building plans, construction records, campus maps, and construction related studies and reports. Capital Projects and Construction also fabricates, permits, and installs a variety of campus signage; including wayfinding, ADA signs, office location signs, campus maps, and contracted specialty signs. Position Summary
Portland State University’s Capital Projects & Construction (CPC) department is recruiting for a talented Architectural Project Manager with experience in full-cycle project management, architectural design, space planning, and interior design. Applicant would be able to manage and/or design a variety of small to medium sized projects with a focus on detailed, budget conscious, innovative design. Projects would range from modern educational environments to efficient office spaces to a variety of miscellaneous project types across campus. The applicant should be adaptable to PSU’s mix of building types and have a working knowledge of the building code, sustainability, universal design, product specifications, materials research & selection, and project permitting.
The position supports campus-wide strategic design goals including accessibility and sustainability objectives, space planning needs, project programming and campus need analysis. The applicant would participate updating and refining the CPC Technical Design Standards, and other construction, office and classroom standards documents.
Reporting to the campus Lead Architect, the Architectural Project Manager works closely with colleagues within CPC, including other project managers, construction and maintenance staff, as well as client groups across the University, including staff working in the Planning & Sustainability Office, Facilities and Property Management, and Real Estate departments.
Capital Projects & Construction is a team-oriented workplace where the 8-10 full time staff take pride in maintaining and constructing the spaces necessary to serve PSU’s students, staff, and faculty across the 40 acre urban campus. The atmosphere is collaborative and casual, but with a high emphasis on professionalism and in serving our clients by delivering quality projects on time and on budget.

Total Compensation Range & Benefits Statement
The starting annual salary rate for this position will be between $72,732 and $96,384, dependent upon qualifications and experience, with an excellent benefits package including 95% premium paid healthcare; a generous retirement and vacation package; and reduced tuition rates for employee, spouse or dependent at any of the Oregon University System schools.
