Position Summary:

This role is responsible for assisting in the control of expenses, ensuring compliance with federal meat inspection and OSHA requirements, and interpreting and enforcing company policies. The position also involves determining manpower needs and making recommendations, preparing and maintaining accurate records and reports, and effectively solving problems with thorough follow-up. The individual will collaborate with department heads to meet production quality yields and goals while maintaining labor standards and product quality. Additionally, the role includes inspecting and maintaining high standards in housekeeping, safety, sanitation, and security, supervising production supervisors, and overseeing all designated shift operations.

Qualifications:

  • Education: High School Diploma or equivalent; a college degree is preferred.
  • Experience: 3-5 years of related industry experience, with 1-3 years of supervisory experience, preferably in a meat processing facility. Knowledge of OSHA, USDA, and HACCP regulations is required.
  • Computer Skills: Proficiency in standard computer applications.
  • Communication Skills: Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Travel: 0 - 10%
  • Supervisory Responsibilities: Manage subordinate supervisors who oversee team members in the plant. Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, and training team members; planning, assigning, and directing work; monitoring and appraising work performance; rewarding, coaching, counseling, and disciplining team members; addressing complaints and resolving problems in accordance with the organization’s policies and applicable laws.
  • Special Skills: Knowledge of OSHA, USDA, HACCP, safety, security, sanitation, quality yields, cost, and efficiencies. Strong mathematical abilities are a plus.
