CTG is seeking to fill a Licensing Engineer III - Engineering Projects opening for our client in Richland, WA.

Location: Richland, WA

Duration: 12 months

Duties:

  • Provide regulatory support for major station initiatives and Engineering Projects objectives.
  • Interface with Engineering Projects team, plant organizations, vendors, industry peers, and the Nuclear Regulatory Commission (NRC).
  • Research regulatory requirements and precedents to support project efforts.
  • Review project documentation to ensure alignment with licensing basis and determine whether changes are necessary.
  • Author and review routine licensing basis changes, ranging from licensee-authorized to NRC-approved changes.
  • Support the lifecycle of licensing actions under NRC review, including response development, audit participation, and public meetings.
  • Assist with implementation actions related to NRC-approved licensing changes.
  • Attend training and industry workshops for continuous development.
  • Support Engineering Projects with regulatory fundamentals and processes.
  • Provide technical and regulatory assistance to plant organizations for both routine and emergent needs.

Skills:

  • Advanced knowledge of engineering techniques, regulatory requirements, and problem-solving methods.
  • Ability to mentor peers and develop training materials related to Regulatory Affairs.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office suite.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills tailored to technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Strong attention to detail and a questioning attitude.

Experience:

  • Minimum seven years of engineering experience in a technical environment.
  • At least two years must be in a DOE or NRC-regulated nuclear environment (four years if using PE license in lieu of degree).
  • Experience with 10 CFR Part 50 or 10 CFR Part 52 licensing basis documents preferred.
  • Participation in NRC meetings, audits, and licensing actions desirable.
  • Background in nuclear compliance or licensing is advantageous.
  • Previous diverse project assignments are highly preferred.

Education:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering from an accredited institution, or PE license obtained by accredited examination.
  • High school diploma or GED required.

Excellent verbal and written English communication skills and the ability to interact professionally with a diverse group are required.

The expected base salary for this position ranges from $49/hr to $74/hr. Salary offers are based on a wide range of factors including relevant skills, training, experience, education, market factors, and where applicable, licensure or certifications obtained. In addition to salary, a competitive benefit package is also offered.
