Job Summary

As a Sous Chef at Flik Independent School Dining, you will have a key role in providing a premier dining experience at Berkeley Carroll School. Join a team that is committed to culinary excellence and innovation, offering you the chance to showcase your skills. Your experience will be vital in upholding our standards and achieving detailed food service operations.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Coordinate and actively participate in the preparation and cooking of various food items.
  • Plan and build innovative menus in line with our expectations.
  • Roll out new culinary programs in collaboration with the marketing and culinary teams.
  • Run cost controls and control expenditure rigorously.
  • Perform other duties as assigned to ensure the success of our operations.

Qualifications:

  • 5 years of related culinary experience, including 1 year in a management role.
  • Confirmed experience in restaurants, hotels, corporate dining, education, military, health care, or related food service operations.
  • Extensive knowledge of food and industry trends, focusing on quality, production, sanitation, safety, food cost controls, and presentation.
  • Ability to set up and distribute production sheets efficiently.
  • Strong supervisory, leadership, training, management, and mentorship skills.
  • ServSafe or Department of Health Certification is preferred.
  • Proficiency in digital literacy and MS Office products, including Excel.
  • Associate’s degree in Culinary Arts is preferred.
