About the Role:

Our mission is to make all of our customers’ security-relevant data continuously available for automated detection and response, threat hunting, and other Falcon use cases. To enable this, the systems behind NG-SIEM are growing to accommodate >100 PB of event and action data ingested every day, up to 10 years of retention, and dozens of millions of queries per hour across large sections of the data stored.

We are seeking a Sr. Engineering Manager for the NG-SIEM product group working on the LogScale Search Engine team. This team is responsible for the core engine that makes LogScale ingest and queries scale to meet the rapidly growing demands. You will be leading a distributed team of highly collaborative engineers who share a strong passion for the product to drive technical vision and direction and in delivering new features and as well as improving existing functionality.

In this role you will get a chance to work on hard engineering problems that do not have well-defined solutions. You will become one of the go-to experts of the LogScale, and will have a broad understanding of the entire LogScale architecture.

This role is open to candidates in the Aarhus area and the wider Denmark area also. Those in the Aarhus area will be expected to go to the Aarhus Office 2-3 times a week. Those who are located further will be expected to go to the Aarhus Office once or twice a month.

What You'll Do:

• Evolve and apply the technical vision for getting to >100 PB/d of event and action log ingestion, while enabling greatly multiplied query intensity over this data set.
• Lead by example on customer and product focus, as well as on hands-on operational excellence.
• Move our product mission forward: partner with your peers to develop the NG-SIEM technical and product strategy and roadmap, and own the execution of that roadmap.
• CrowdStrike is growing and you will be instrumental in the hiring, retention, mentorship, and growth of our world class engineering teams. You will manage 8-9 engineers.
• Your impact is not bounded and you will be enabled to engage and collaborate with various teams and ensure our product’s success. You will work cross functionally with your peers in the product engineering organization as well as with field leaders in sales, customer success, and support.
• Our systems and customers are operating globally and 24/7 so you must bring your excellent verbal and written communication skills to bear when you are working with teams across the globe. You’ll also travel a few times every year to meet with your teams and peers.

What You'll Need:

• 7+ years of experience designing, implementing, and maintaining multiple software products/systems/releases, preferably in a SaaS delivery model, across all phases of the development lifecycle, and across multiple software stacks;
• 3+ years of experience managing teams of 6+ individual contributors reporting to you and delivering multiple major milestones of products. Demonstrated track record of building strong engineering teams.
• Successful track record of scaling up large SaaS-type offerings (e.g., to >500k CPU cores).
• Demonstrated track record of operational excellence when operating services that span many components across several geographical regions.
• Shown capability to solve complex scenarios of integrating multiple systems and services that are operating 24/7.
• History of positive impact on customer experience and business results.
• Experience working with remote teams across geographies and cultures.
• Ability to communicate and articulate crisply at all levels from executive staff to individual contributors.

Bonus Points:

• Successful track record of scaling up large SaaS-type offerings to >1M CPU cores while increasing resilience and reducing unit costs
• Solid grounding in the technology of at least one cloud environment (AWS, Azure, GCP).
• Experience with Scala and Kafka.
• Exposure to or experience with Log Management or cybersecurity products.
• Machine learning and data science familiarity and hands-on experience.
