How you will create an impact

Reporting into the UK Head of Financial Lines, this is a fantastic opportunity for an experienced Cyber professional to lead a dynamic team at one of the largest insurers of Cyber and Tech PI.

This role will be critical in continuing the growth trajectory of UK Cyber and Tech PI, playing a key part in the creation of strategic growth initiatives and ensuring profitable growth through considered development of vendor, industry group partnerships, broker and client relations.

Some of the key responsibilities include:

  • Lead a growing team of Cyber Underwriters, providing strategic direction and people management. Actively supporting the team to achieve production and profit targets.
  • Accountable for ensuring profitability through implementing measures and information, as well as driving process efficiency and effective use of systems and raters.
  • Effectively partner with the Actuarial team to provide information that will support the Cyber team in making informed decisions.
  • Generate new business by expanding AIG’s broker network, attending broker events, and building new relationships across the market.
  • Support and promote AIG’s Multinational Value proposition.
  • Ensure compliance with key regulatory and risk management responsibilities.
  • Continuously driving Underwriting and Operational Excellence (AIG Strategy & Standards).
  • Manage underwriting referrals within agreed Cyber decision-making standards, limitations, and underwriting authority.
  • Assess the desirability of risk through analysis of financial reports and accounts (as required); engage in regular contact with brokers; thorough review of proposal; and review of claims history and general company information.
  • Actively drive Broker and Client Engagement initiatives within UK Cyber.
  • Continuously develop broker and client relationships in the London Market and remain up to date with market trends, new underwriting risks that we need to consider and products we can develop, change to manage the risk and grow.
  • Serve as guide, thought leader and/or referral point for all Cyber Underwriters and other AIG Profit Centres.
  • Setting and delivering on training and development plans for Underwriters.
  • Responsible for actively develop AIG’s Cyber talent pipeline and supporting timely career progression.
  • Responsible for developing own succession plan.
  • Work closely with marketing and communications to produce marketing and communications materials to update clients and brokers regarding trends or new products and services developments.
  • Drive product innovation and constantly evolving coverage and services offered.

What you'll need to succeed:

  • Proven Cyber underwriting experience is essential.
  • Experience of leading and developing high-performing underwriting teams.
  • Proven ability to present and sell Cyber products to clients.
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • Ability to handle multiple priorities, organise work and meet deadlines.
  • Ability to analyse financial statements.
  • Ability to network and build relationships.
