Jacobs is seeking a highly skilled and experienced strategic Project Director with a passion for architecture/developments to join our Buildings & Logistics unit in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. The project is set to elevate Saudi Arabia's tourism industry by attracting discerning travelers from around the world seeking exclusive experiences, unrivaled luxury, and a deep connection with nature. This is your opportunity to shape the future of urban design while driving transformative projects that showcase architectural excellence. In this role you will be overseeing the full lifecycle of major projects, from initial planning through to completion. This role requires exceptional leadership, in-depth project management expertise, and the ability to drive Jacobs’s commitment to excellence, sustainability, and client satisfaction in Saudi Arabia. The Project Director will be instrumental in ensuring that projects align with local regulations, contribute to the Kingdom’s Vision 2030 goals, and meet the highest standards of quality and safety.

In joining Jacobs you will:

  • Influence and support client project delivery through effective and proportionate planning, monitoring, controlling, and reporting of performance.
  • Lead cross-functional teams of project managers, engineers, and other professionals, ensuring that each team member is focused on achieving project success and delivering client satisfaction.
  • Lead and manage the overall direction and successful execution of large-scale, high-profile projects, ensuring they are completed on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards.
  • Manage project risks and proactively develop strategies to address challenges, minimizing delays and cost overruns.
  • Ensure and oversee positive project financial health, cashflow and deliver the envisaged margins.
  • Ensure appropriate services to the project are delivered through technical, engineering, project controls, commercial and financial support functions.
  • Review, approve and ensure effective implementation of the Project Execution Plan, Procurement Strategies and Project Delivery Strategies.
  • Challenge the design to ensure that the client receives the product based on international best practice.
  • Promote and foster positive working relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Conduct meaningful inductions, performance management reviews and personal development plans that support the development of individuals and the business.
  • Lead by example and ensure QMS and Project lifecycle compliance across their team and projects.

Here's what you'll need

As a successful candidate you will have a BS or MS degree in Architecture or Engineering, from a recognized university, with hands on experience on Mega projects. You will ideally have experience from the Middle East, in the capacity of a Project Director in the Middle East. It is important that you can demonstrate a strong knowledge of recognized program / project management control principles, with the ability to motivate others and work to tight deadlines. You will have excellent client management skills and have the capacity to work with and lead diverse teams when under pressure whilst always being commercially savvy, in what is considered a rapidly changing sector. An internationally recognized professional registration would be a plus.
