12 Month Internship - IT Application Services

Join our IT Production department as an Application Services Intern, where you will have the opportunity to work alongside experienced engineers in supporting the day-to-day operations of low-latency applications and enterprise middleware systems. This role is perfect for recent graduates who have a foundational understanding of technology, a willingness to learn, and an interest in application support, scripting, and DevOps practices. A strong understanding of programming and scripting is essential, as you will be actively involved in automation and system optimization tasks.

Key Responsibilities but not limited to:

  • Support & Monitoring: Assist the team with monitoring applications to ensure reliability and performance. Learn to respond to alerts, investigate issues, and contribute to system health analysis.
  • Middleware Exposure: Gain hands-on experience with enterprise messaging systems such as Solace, learning how messages flow between distributed systems in real-time.
  • Automation & Scripting: Help write simple scripts (using Python, Bash, or PowerShell) to automate routine tasks, such as log parsing or service checks.
  • CI/CD Fundamentals: Gain an introduction to Continuous Integration and Continuous Deployment tools. Support the team in maintaining pipelines and understanding how code moves from development to production.
  • Tooling & Dashboards: Assist in creating or updating dashboards using tools like Kibana to provide visibility into system metrics and logs.
  • Documentation & Learning: Help document processes, learn operational workflows, and participate in team discussions about system improvements and incident handling.

Candidate criteria

Minimal education level

Bachelor Degree / BSc Degree or equivalent

Academic qualification / Speciality

Recent graduate or Masters in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related field.
