Primary Purpose of the Organizational Unit
In support of the mission of UNC Greensboro, the Office of Undergraduate Admissions fosters student success and cultivates exemplary student experiences through the recruitment, admission, and enrollment of traditional first-time freshmen, transfer, and nontraditional adult students. The office is responsible for identifying, cultivating, and evaluating prospective students, making admissions decisions, and positively influencing their decision to matriculate to UNCG.
As a key public relations arm of the University, the Office of Undergraduate Admissions communicates the academic, programmatic, and developmental offerings of UNCG to prospective students, families, counselors, alumni, and other external partners. The office also ensures accurate academic records and upholds policies and regulations that support institutional integrity and student progress, serving all University constituents. Through these efforts, the Office of Undergraduate Admissions advances the University’s enrollment goals and enhances the overall student experience.

The Transfer Credit and Admissions Operations Analyst is responsible for executing transfer credit articulation and admissions processing functions, ensuring timely application evaluations and accurate evaluation of transfer credit, maintaining compliance with UNC System policies, and supporting admissions operations. This position operates under the guidance of the Administrative Support Supervisor in the Office of Undergraduate Admissions. The analyst ensures adherence to statewide policies and mandates while supporting articulation agreements and degree planning processes. Additionally, this role evaluates students’ academic credentials and makes admissions recommendations based on UNC System criteria, maintaining applicant records and processing applications received from various electronic sources. The position requires expertise in transfer articulation, student information systems, and admissions data processing, along with strong analytical skills and attention to detail.
Minimum Qualifications
BACHELOR’S DEGREE; OR EQUIVALENT COMBINATION OF TRAINING AND EXPERIENCE. ALL DEGREES MUST BE RECEIVED FROM APPROPRIATELY ACCREDITED INSTITUTIONS.

Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited institution and/or one year of related experience in admissions, transfer, student services within a college setting, or student information systems.

Transfer Credit and Articulation
Essential Tasks
- Manage the evaluation process for transfer credit, using professional judgment and discretion to research, determine equivalencies, and input them into the student information system (Banner).
- Collaborate with academic colleges to review course syllabi and supporting materials for credit articulation when needed.
- Ensure compliance with UNC System mandates regarding the completion timeframe for transfer credit evaluations.
- Maintain and update the transfer credit dictionary/tables in Banner to ensure accurate articulation of external coursework.
- Facilitate UNC Greensboro’s participation in statewide transfer equivalency programs, including Common Articulation Agreements (CAA), military transfer initiatives, bilateral agreements, and other standardized agreements.
- Utilize expertise in UNCG General Education requirements to develop and maintain transfer credit equivalency guides for frequent external credit sources, such as NC Community Colleges and international institutions.

Essential Tasks
- Assist prospective students with the admissions process, including reviewing applications to determine if UNC System Minimum Course Requirements are met.
- Assess residency information and required documentation for tuition classification purposes, including cases involving applicants born abroad.
- Evaluate applicant data for completeness, identifying inconsistencies and making informed decisions regarding applicant safety/disciplinary concerns.
- Interpret and apply admissions policies, ensuring accuracy and consistency in decisions while maintaining the confidentiality of student records.
- Demonstrate proficiency in entering and evaluating data within the admissions Customer Relationship Management (CRM) system and Student Information System (SIS), ensuring accurate indexing and linking of documents.
- Process applications from multiple electronic sources, ensuring accuracy and efficiency in data management.
- Extract and analyze data from the admissions CRM to maintain data integrity and improve operational efficiency.

- Provide timely, accurate, and friendly customer service to students, staff, and faculty regarding admissions inquiries and transfer articulation.
- Independently resolve customer issues by leveraging extensive knowledge of admissions policies, transfer credit procedures, and university resources.
- Guide students, parents, and counselors to appropriate campus offices as needed.
- Assist applicants with troubleshooting online application and electronic service issues.
