Overview:

M&T Bank is seeking a well-rounded SCCM/Desktop Engineer to join our End User Computing team. This role is responsible for designing, implementing, and managing endpoint systems, ensuring secure and efficient operation of devices across the enterprise. The ideal candidate will have a deep understanding of Windows desktop operating systems, Windows deployment, SCCM, and Intune, with experience in endpoint security, automation, and hardware/software management. This individual will collaborate with cross-functional teams to enhance the end-user experience and support enterprise-wide technology initiatives.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Oversee daily operations of SCCM and Intune, managing software deployments, patching, compliance policies, and reporting
  • Develop and maintain Windows desktop standards, configurations, and policies
  • Automate tasks using PowerShell scripting to improve endpoint security and streamline operations
  • Implement security policies and device compliance rules
  • Troubleshoot and optimize hardware, software, and network configurations
  • Collaborate with Security, Infrastructure, and Support teams to ensure seamless operations
  • Maintain technical documentation and knowledge base articles
  • Lead and contribute to IT projects focused on endpoint management and security

Scope of Responsibilities:

  • Work closely with Technology management, senior engineers, and support teams to implement technical solutions
  • Participate in infrastructure review, design, and implementation
  • Create and maintain support and architectural documentation
  • Coordinate vendor interactions and resources as needed
  • Mentor and coach junior engineers and technicians
  • Stay current with Financial Services technology trends and best practices
  • Promote and adhere to industry standards and internal risk/regulatory requirements

Supervisory/Managerial Responsibilities:

  • Provide mentoring and review of work for less experienced engineers
  • May lead technical project efforts or cross-functional teams on a project basis

Education and Experience Required:

  • Combined minimum of 6 years higher education and/or work experience in systems design, management, and/or architecture

Education and Experience Preferred:

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or Computer Engineering
  • Minimum 6 years professional experience in infrastructure design, system development, or endpoint engineering
  • Experience managing Windows OS security, policy, compliance, and deployment
  • Strong expertise in SCCM and Intune engineering
  • Advanced troubleshooting, problem solving, and analytical skills
  • Proficiency in PowerShell scripting and process automation
  • Excellent communication, facilitation, and documentation skills
  • Knowledge of server/client and virtualization technologies
  • Ability to work independently and in team environments
  • Strong understanding of how technologies interact within enterprise systems
