Data Management Senior Consultant AVP, Charles River Development

Work location: Burlington / Boston - MA, LA/Irvine & San Francisco / Sacramento - CA, Clifton, NJ, Berwyn, PA and Stamford, CT.

Who we are looking for

Charles River are looking to expand their Alpha Data Platform (ADP) Implementation Services Team. The ADP Senior Consultant is responsible for all aspects of implementation for the Alpha Data Platform from leading client engagements to managing the client delivery plan and team. A critical success factor is the ability to manage the competing demands of the clients to whom the he or she is assigned, operating administratively as well as hands-on.

The ideal candidate will have 4+ years of data management experience within the investment management industry. Higher weighting will be placed on candidates who also have experience in the areas of master data management, data quality management, and working with security, issuer and reference data from leading data vendors. The right candidate has a combination of skills including business analysis, project management, relationship management and software implementation. Experience with Agile methodologies is a big plus. Candidates must be comfortable running implementation projects, dealing with all the associated issues, and leading a cross-functional team to achieve results.

The team you will be joining is a part of Charles River Development (or CRD), that became a part of State Street in 2018. CRD helps create enterprise investment management software solutions for large institutions in the areas of institutional investment, wealth management and hedge funds. Together we have created first open front-to-back platform - State Street Alpha, that was launched in 2019. You will be part of the team responsible for implementing Alpha Data Platform, an industry leading investment management data platform and a key strategic initiative for State Street enabling the industry’s first true front- to back-office solution.

What you will be responsible for

As Senior Consultant - Implementation Services you will be responsible for:

• Support implementation projects as a data and software configuration analyst for Alpha Data Platform
• Deliver agreed-upon projects and deliverables as part of the ADP delivery team
• Data analysis and documentation including, but not limited to: Data Mapping; Transformations; Data Quality; Complex Derivations; Enrichments
• Be accountable and responsible for daily execution of the project plan tasks and activities
• Work effectively as a member of a cross-functional team within CRD, State Street including other consultants
• Keep abreast of pertinent information on ADP and CRD upgrades and major releases and relating to your assigned work
• Ensuring effective escalation of perceived or identified project risks to Delivery Managers and Practice leadership
• Work closely and under the direction of the Global and Regional ADP Practice Leads and ensure best practices are being applied to day-day activities to achieve optimal client results
• Maintain a general awareness of industry changes/trends

What we value

• Hands-on experience implementing data management software
• Demonstrated understanding of Data Management concepts including gold copy and data quality management
• Familiarity with leading data management platforms within the Investment Management industry
• Demonstrated market instrument knowledge - Fixed Income/derivatives etc.
• Hands-on and working knowledge of SQL; experience with Snowflake a big plus
• Proven skills and experience producing data requirements documentation including Mnemonics mapping and transformations
• Travel will be required – may be >20% per calendar year

Education & Preferred Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree from a leading university or college in Finance, Business/Mathematical Finance, Economics or Computer Science
• A minimum 5 years of experience in the Financial / Software Services industry

Salary Range:

$100,000 - $160,000 Annual

The range quoted above applies to the role in the primary location specified. If the candidate would ultimately work outside of the primary location above, the applicable range could differ.
