Business Intelligence Analyst
Marketing Analytics is a key element in Groupon’s Marketing Org and as a team we develop new data requirements, maintain automated dashboards and analyze marketing performance to helps improve marketing strategies and customer insights to make Groupon engaging for both merchants and consumers.
This position based out of Bangalore office will be part of our International Marketing Analytics team supporting Groupon’s Marketing efforts. The successful candidate will be responsible for understanding, measuring, testing and reporting on the fundamental success factors that drive our drive Marketing success in the EMEA region.
The right candidate will possess a strong combination of technical aptitude, and analytical prowess. Typical responsibilities include:
Engage with stakeholders to gather requirements to deliver data solutions
Implement data pipelines to automate the ingestion, transformation, and augmentation of both structured and unstructured data sources, and provide best practices for pipeline operations
Troubleshoot and remediate data quality issues raised by pipeline alerts or downstream consumers.
Work with upstream QA teams on integrating data validation tests. Evaluate new releases from data quality perspective.
Contribute to anomaly detection and alerting tools evolution in the pipeline (both real-time and batch)
Provide advice and ideas for technical solutions and improvements to data systems
Create and maintain clear documentation on data models/schemas as well as transformation/validation rules
Implement tools that help data consumers to extract, analyze, and visualize data faster through data pipelines
3-7 years experience in Business Intelligence or similar role that involves data modeling and/or SQL-based data transformation and analytics
Hands-on experience with all aspects of designing, developing, testing and implementing ETL solutions
100% fluency in ANSI SQL. Hive SQL required.
Knowledge of Big data systems - Hadoop , pig, hive, etc.
Experience in using tools like Tableau for creating dashboards, reports and data exploration
Strong SQL, Tableau, Excel and other reporting tools
Experience automating using Python, R etc. or other programming languages
Hands on experience in Hadoop and related technology stack
Experience with data warehouse technologies like Teradata, Oracle, MySQL & Hive

Ability to develop and organize high-quality documentation

Strong written and verbal communication skills
