Global Operations

Wells Fargo’s Global Operations team consists of ~50K people providing middle and back-office support for all five of Wells Fargo’s Lines of Business (Consumer and Small Business Banking, Consumer Lending, Wealth and Investment Management, Commercial Banking and the Corporate and Investment Bank) and Enterprise Functions.

Global Operations (GO) is responsible for refining processes and redesigning business operations by efficiently utilizing resources to exceed customer requirements and service. Our mission is to integrate, transform, and strengthen the enterprise through automation, risk mitigation, effective controls, and state of the art technological solutions to operate at an optimal level.

Working closely with the businesses they support, Global Operations drives efficiency and risk mitigation through process simplification, functional consolidation, automation, and effective controls. The main groups that make up Global Operations are Consumer Lending Operations, Consumer, Small & Business Banking Operations, Wholesale Operations, Shared Services Operations, and Fraud and Claims Management.

Global Operations’ goal is to build a more unified, more integrated approach to Wells Fargo's business operations functions focused on enhancing our operational excellence, meeting our regulatory remediation efforts, and better serving customers.

The Role

Global Operations is seeking a strategic and technically adept professional to lead the redesign of our end-to-end access management processes and tooling. This role will focus on implementing scalable, job-based access profiles, streamlining processes, and enhancing controls. The ideal candidate will bring a strong background in Identity and Access Management (IAM) frameworks, process optimization, and risk mitigation, with a passion for building well controlled, user-centric access models that describe applications in language that is easy to understand.

Responsibilities include:

  • Create a cross-functional Access Management team that includes both direct reports and matrixed employees.
  • Lead the end-to-end redesign of access management processes and tooling, partnering with businesses, Technology, and Information Security.
  • Develop and implement job-based access profiles aligned with business functions and least privilege principles.
  • Identify and eliminate redundant or manual access management workflows.
  • Collaborate with risk and compliance teams to align access processes with internal policies and regulatory requirements.
  • Partner with businesses, HR, Technology, and Information Security to define access needs and translate them into a streamlined, user-friendly process.

Required Qualifications:

  • 8+ years of Business Execution, Implementation, or Strategic Planning experience, including Management or leadership experience, or equivalent experience demonstrated through one or a combination of the following: work experience, training, military experience, education
  • 4+ years of management or leadership experience

Desired Qualifications:

  • Developing and implementing access management strategies within a global organization
  • Proven experience designing and implementing role-based access models.
  • Strong understanding of IAM tools.
  • Experience leading and developing a team of professionals.
  • Familiarity with regulatory compliance frameworks and audit requirements.
  • Excellent communication, project management, and stakeholder engagement skills.
  • Exceptional leadership skills required to lead complex functions across multiple sites and employee population.
  • Experience presenting/preparing executive summaries, whitepapers, and presentations for executive management, senior leaders, and regulators
  • Critical thinking, problem solving and decision-making skills
  • Process owner experience with strong process analysis abilities
  • Strong partnership and collaboration skills with proven ability to manage effectively in a matrixed organization
  • Proven success recruiting, inspiring, developing, coaching, and motivating team members through balanced leadership with a focus on team member engagement and retention and performance management
  • Bachelor’s degree.
