Job Description

We’re looking for a Project Engineer to join Olsson’s Power Delivery team, contributing to the execution of utility transmission and distribution projects. In this role, you’ll oversee technical design tasks, provide input on project strategy, and coordinate with cross-functional teams to deliver high-quality power system designs.

This is a great opportunity for a mid-level engineer ready to take on more ownership of design execution, client coordination, and technical leadership.

Primary Responsibilities

  • Perform detailed engineering design for transmission lines, substations, and distribution systems.
  • Lead technical tasks including calculations, modeling, and drawing reviews.
  • Prepare project documents, budgets, and schedules in collaboration with project managers.
  • Serve as a point of contact for clients and contribute to proposal development.
  • Support field investigations and construction coordination as needed.
  • Mentor junior engineers and coordinate with drafters and technicians.

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (Electrical, Mechanical, Civil, or related field).
  • Professional Engineer (PE) license.
  • 6+ years of engineering experience, ideally in utility transmission/distribution.
  • Familiarity with PLS-CADD, AutoCAD, MicroStation, or similar design tools.
  • Strong project coordination skills.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively on multidisciplinary teams.

Actual compensation will vary based on factors such as experience, qualifications, geographic location, skills, education, and internal equity.

Colorado Pay Range

$105,000—$150,000 USD
