Position Summary

At PIER Dining, we serve more than just food — we serve unforgettable moments on the harbour. Located at Pier One Sydney Harbour, Autograph Collection, our restaurant is a celebration of seasonal Australian produce, seafood-led menus, and relaxed luxury — all set against the backdrop of Sydney’s most iconic waterfront.

As Assistant Restaurant Manager, you’ll support the day-to-day operations of PIER Dining, lead a passionate front-of-house team, and ensure every guest experience is seamless, warm, and memorable. You’ll bring energy, leadership, and a love for hospitality to one of Sydney’s most scenic dining destinations.

Core Responsibilities

Guest Experience & Service Excellence

• Lead by example in delivering exceptional service that reflects the Pier One and Marriott brands.
• Support the Assistant Food & Beverage Manager - Venues in overseeing daily operations, including floor service, reservations, and guest engagement.
• Resolve guest concerns with professionalism and care, ensuring every visit ends on a high note.

Team Leadership & Development

• Supervise, train, and motivate front-of-house staff to deliver consistent, high-quality service.
• Foster a positive, inclusive, and high-performing team culture.
• Assist with scheduling, onboarding, and performance management.

Operational Support

• Ensure compliance with health, safety, and hygiene standards.
• Collaborate with the culinary and bar teams to deliver a cohesive dining experience.
• Assist with inventory, ordering, and reporting as required.

Candidate Profile

Education & Experience

• 2-year degree from an accredited university in Hospitality, Restaurant Management, or related field; 2 years’ experience in food and beverage service or related professional area
• OR
• 4-year bachelor’s degree in Hospitality or related field; 1 year experience in food and beverage service or related professional area

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience in premium or lifestyle dining environments
• Strong leadership and communication skills
• A passion for food, wine, and creating memorable guest experiences
