Your role at Clorox:

The Clorox Company is seeking a qualified candidate for a Process Operator position at our Aberdeen, MD facility. This facility uses automated packaging equipment and utilities to manufacture and distribute Clorox Liquid Bleach products. Process Associates play a crucial role in the production of liquid bleach products. This role involves managing a sophisticated system of storage, mixing, blending, and holding tanks, along with pumps, associated piping, controls, and instrumentation. The primary responsibility is to ensure the efficient transfer of raw materials to mixing equipment and the prepared product to the packaging area. Given the nature of the materials handled, a sound mental ability is essential for safely managing hazardous chemicals.

Starting Hourly rates range from $26.11-$27.75 with opportunities to advance through a skill-based pay system.

Candidates must be flexible with shift hours and overtime as business needs dictate. Shifts operate in a fast-paced manufacturing environment and may vary occasionally: (1st, 2nd or 3rd shift).

In this role, you will:

  • Order and Receipt of Materials: Manage the ordering and receipt of raw materials, supplies, and parts necessary for production.
  • Raw Material Handling: Accurately add raw materials to the mixing and blending equipment as per the production requirements.
  • Equipment Operation: Operate and oversee the process of equipment used for mixing and blending bleach products.
  • Monitoring: Continuously monitor the controls and instrumentation to ensure the production process is running smoothly and efficiently.
  • Quality Testing: Conduct tests on samples of raw materials and finished products at various stages of production to ensure quality standards are met.
  • Laboratory Maintenance: Maintain laboratory equipment and supplies to ensure they are in good working condition.
  • Troubleshooting: Identify and troubleshoot any issues within the production system to minimize downtime and maintain productivity.
  • Rail Car Operations: For certified associates, operate a train engine to move rail cars as needed.
  • System Maintenance: Install, repair, or modify process system equipment to ensure optimal performance.
  • Production Planning: Plan and schedule production activities to meet production targets and deadlines.

What we look for:

  • High School diploma or GED.
  • Resume required.
  • Minimum of 2 years' experience as a manufacturing operator or maintenance technician.
  • Effective written and communication skills.
  • Shift Flexibility: Ability to work different shifts should business needs arise (1st, 2nd, or 3rd shift).
  • Physical Requirements: Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. and stand/walk for up to 8 hours per shift.
  • Production and Processing — Knowledge of raw materials, production processes, quality control, costs, and other techniques for maximizing the effective manufacture and distribution of goods.
  • Mechanical — Knowledge of machines and tools, including their designs, uses, repair, and maintenance.
  • Mathematics — Knowledge of basic math, counting, tally counts, arithmetic.
  • Preferred Qualifications:
  • Preferred minimum (5 years) of operator experience in a manufacturing environment.
  • Enterprise resource planning ERP software — SAP software
  • Office suite software — Microsoft Office 365 suites software
  • Technical Skills: Knowledge of gears, drives, motors, and mechanical systems.
  • Chemical Processing: Direct experience in chemical processing is highly desirable.
