Job Summary

Executive Chef – ESS Alaska (Strategic Culinary Leadership Role)

As the Executive Chef for ESS Alaska, you will serve as a senior culinary leader, working in close partnership with the Director of Culinary to shape and guide the strategic direction of our culinary operations. This role is pivotal in driving innovation, maintaining excellence, and ensuring alignment with the organization’s long-term vision for growth and cultural integrity across our Alaskan operations.

You will provide high-level oversight of culinary standards, operational efficiency, and team development, ensuring that all culinary initiatives reflect our commitment to quality, sustainability, and cultural relevance. This is a leadership role for a visionary chef who excels in both strategic planning and team empowerment.

Key Leadership Responsibilities:

  • Provide executive oversight of all culinary operations across multiple sites or units.
  • Set and uphold culinary standards, ensuring consistency, innovation, and excellence.
  • Lead and mentor senior kitchen leadership, fostering a culture of accountability, collaboration, and continuous improvement.
  • Collaborate on long-term menu strategy, culinary innovation, and brand alignment.
  • Ensure compliance with all regulatory and safety standards through strategic policy implementation.
  • Oversee high-level inventory and procurement strategies to optimize cost control and sustainability.
  • Partner with cross-functional teams to support business development, client satisfaction, and operational excellence.

Qualifications:

  • Culinary degree or equivalent executive-level experience in food service leadership.
  • Minimum 5 years of progressive leadership in high-volume, multi-unit culinary operations.
  • Proven ability to lead large teams and manage complex culinary systems.
  • Strong strategic thinking, communication, and organizational skills.
  • Deep knowledge of culinary trends, food safety, and operational best practices.
  • Passion for innovation, cultural integration, and culinary excellence.
