The position

As a Contract Manager, you will play a pivotal role in supporting clinical trials by managing contracts and ensuring compliance with regulatory and ethical standards. Your key responsibilities will include:

  • Negotiating and managing clinical trial agreements and budgets with research sites and vendors.
  • Ensuring all contracts adhere to regulatory requirements, ethical standards, and Good Clinical Practice (GCP).
  • Overseeing the full lifecycle of contracts, including Confidentiality Agreements (CDAs), vendor contracts, and subcontractor agreements.
  • Collaborating closely with internal teams such as Legal, Procurement, Finance, and Clinical Operations.
  • Ensuring contracts are completed on time to support the overall progress of clinical trials.

Qualifications

We are looking for a candidate with the following qualifications:

  • University degree in Life Sciences or equivalent.
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in contract management within a clinical setting.
  • Good knowledge of GCP (Good Clinical Practices) and regulatory requirements.
  • Strong understanding of Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) in clinical research.
  • Ability to negotiate and manage contracts with research sites, vendors, and subcontractors.
  • Capability to ensure regulatory and ethical compliance throughout all stages of the contracting process.
  • Willingness to travel up to 20%, both nationally and internationally.
  • Ability to collaborate with multiple internal departments (Legal, Finance, Procurement, Clinical Operations).

Nice-to-Have

  • Previous experience working with clinical trial vendors (CROs) or in the pharmaceutical industry.
  • Knowledge of budget management within clinical contracts.
  • Familiarity with Confidential Disclosure Agreements (CDAs) and multi-party contracts.
  • Experience in negotiations with international sites or in multicultural environments.
  • Advanced skills in contract management tools or digital tracking platforms.

Our department in Canada is dedicated to running all clinical development activities, from initial planning of clinical trials to authority submission. We provide resources, processes, and competences in Biostatistics and Programming, Clinical Reporting, Data Management, Epidemiology/Real World Evidence, and Clinical Pharmacology to all development projects. Our team supports trial execution by aligning processes, developing competencies, sharing knowledge, and providing training across trial management and medical staff.
