The Position

The Procurement Lead role involves overseeing the Sourcing and Procurement efforts that facilitate the expansion projects. This encompasses, but is not limited to, areas such as Capital Equipment, Facilities Management, Utilities, Professional Services, Spare Parts and Raw Materials. The position requires close collaboration with Category Leads to implement strategic initiatives aimed at enhancing efficiencies, minimizing supply chain risks, and achieving cost savings for the organization. Additionally, this role will assess the approved supplier list for the site, collaborate with the Corporate Procurement Function to identify synergy opportunities, spearhead supply chain sustainability initiatives, streamline the sites supplier base, and execute programs to deliver value to both internal and external stakeholders connected to the site.

Essential Functions

  • Collaborate and support all functions to execute sourcing initiatives in a timely manner while ensuring compliance with global procurement policies and procedures
  • Collaborate with functional leads to develop robust technical requirements and specifications for goods and services to support business needs
  • Perform in-depth routine spend analysis to understand spend variance and identify cost reduction opportunities via collaboration with our Global Category Management Teams
  • Collaborate and provide strategic support into the annual budget process through the identification of cost reduction opportunities or increased cost risks for the business
  • Lead cross-functional initiatives that help drive our business through sustainable and responsible business practices that bring value to our patients, shareholders, and the community
  • Lead local projects in close collaboration with local teams and Global Procurement for supplier selection, negotiation, and contract implementation
  • Negotiate contracts, ensuring compliance with contracts developed locally or globally
  • Prepare various reports for cost savings tracking, supplier spend analysis, and performance
  • Manage and continually assess your teams’ capabilities, support development growth and opportunities while providing the necessary training to be successful in their roles
  • Follow all safety & environmental requirements in the performance of duties
  • Other duties, as assigned

Physical Requirements

100% work scheduled based on-site at Bloomington, Indiana facility

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in business, finance, engineering, sciences, purchasing, or other related field of study from an accredited university, required
  • Master’s Degree, preferred
  • CPSM / CIPM certification, a plus
  • Minimum of seven (7) years of purchasing experience, required
  • Global operations, finance, and matrix management experience, preferred
  • Quality, biologics, pharmaceutical and technical background, preferred
  • Strong understanding of pharmaceutical industry and GMPs, a plus
  • Demonstrated leadership, change management, strategic/tactical planning, project management, and analytical skills within a dynamic and fast paced environment, required
  • Experience leading cross functional teams, processes and continuous improvement initiatives, required
