Since our founding in 1986, we have graded and authenticated millions of items. We employ more than 1,900 people across our headquarters in Santa Ana and offices in Jersey City, Tokyo, Shanghai, Hong Kong, Toronto, Guadalajara, Dallas, and Paris.

We are looking for a Head of Security to join Collectors. The Head of Security is responsible for providing a proper secure environment for all the companies insured product and its employees working at all Collectors job sites. Leading a Security workforce of highly responsible and professional personnel across all Collectors locations, local and abroad. At the Director’s discretion, the work force will be assigned to work at any time necessary to maintain the integrity of all valuables entrusted to our care.

You’ll report to the Senior Director, Global Real Estate & Security. The ideal candidate will be local to either our Santa Ana, CA or Jersey City, NJ headquarters, but fully remote candidates who can travel up to 50% will also be considered.

What You’ll Do:

Leadership + Administration

  • Manage Physical Security Management team across Global locations
  • Set, manage, track strategic deliverables, improvements & KPIs across functional areas:
    • Documentation
    • People
    • Processes
    • Technology
  • Guide global team onboarding + training processes
  • Guide global guard team performance management/training/career development + handle management team escalations
  • Develop/guide global Security risks assessment + management plan
  • Budget Management - Own global security staffing, buildout/infrastructure, & opex budgets - ~$3-4M annually
  • Collaborate closely with Asset Protection team on high priority investigations
  • Oversee Security vehicle management program
  • Collaborate on global insurance policy management, ensuring sites meet insurance infrastructure criteria
  • Lead by example and be a champion of all company policies, including safety, attendance & security.

Security Infrastructure + Systems

In collaboration with Security Lead + Technical Security Teams -

  • Provide Real Estate lease review + support new site selection
  • Support global VMS/ACM structure, processes/standards
  • Support global Security construction standards

Secure Transports + Shows

In collaboration with Security Lead Team -

  • Collaborate on global secure transport processes
  • Collaborate on trade show Security staffing + processes

Emergency Response + Safety

  • Develop + roll out Global EAP program
  • Collaborate with cross-functional stakeholders to support the Continuity of Business program
  • Support global safety initiative (under the Workplace Team)
  • Oversee global travel safety program
  • Oversee executive protection program

Who You Are

  • 7+ years of proven business leadership experience with a record of delivering results in physical security or asset protection
  • 3+ years in a Director/Head of Physical Security or Asset Protection role
  • Demonstrated ability to identify inefficiencies in security or asset protection processes/programs and develop effective alternatives to drive better outcomes that enhance capacity, improve cost effectiveness, and drive down costs.
  • Collaborative and reliable leader that takes a data driven approach to problem-solving
  • Experience with change management, inheriting teams and bringing them along for the journey, moving with urgency and empowering those around you to do the same
  • A servant leader that resources and supports the team, while holding high expectations and standards.
  • Track record of identifying, supporting, developing and advancing internal talent
  • Excellent written and verbal communicator with strong interpersonal skills
  • Proficient in Google Doc, Sheets. Knows Microsoft Word & Excel
  • Valid Driver's license

Salary Range: The salary range for this position is $154,997-$194,82. Actual compensation on this range varies based on a variety of non-discriminatory factors, including location, job level, prior experience, and skill set.
