Purpose
Contributes to the overall success of the Global Onboarding Experience team within Global HR Operations ensuring specific individual goals, plans, initiatives are executed / delivered in support of the team’s business strategies and objectives. Ensures all activities conducted are in compliance with governing regulations, internal policies and procedures.
Accountabilities
- Champions a client-driven culture to deepen client relationships and leverage broader Bank relationships, systems and knowledge.
- Works with the Senior Manager, Director and GHRO Leaders to conduct process assessments, identify improvement opportunities, and recommend solutions to business challenges.
- Support Tier 2 escalations surrounding complex employee inquiries pertaining to recruiting & onboarding, resolve escalated inquiries and provide coverage for overflow work when required.
- Oversees Global Onboarding initiatives, ensuring that new hires are seamlessly integrated into the organization. Actively participates in project delivery, coordinating with various stakeholders to meet project timelines and objectives. Cultivates and strengthens relationships with individual business units in all Countries we support, understanding their unique needs and challenges to tailor onboarding processes accordingly. This involves regular communication, feedback collection, and continuous improvement of onboarding practices to enhance the overall new hire experience and operational efficiency.
- Enhance individual and team performance through regular coaching and feedback sessions, utilizing performance and development trackers,
- Intraday 2.0, etc. Conduct individual touch bases with each direct report to review and provide detailed coaching and feedback on performance KPIs, performance goals, development goals, and development opportunities.
- Foster a culture of continuous improvement by promoting active participation and contributing to team development and engagement programs.
- Provide support to the team and senior management with timely and reliable execution of activities related to reporting metrics and key performance indicators.
- Identify and promote internal growth opportunities and develop a succession plan for critical roles within the team.
- Assess the quality of execution of the Global HR Operations, based on the established QA/Audit processes to drive performance.
- Understand how the Bank’s risk appetite and risk culture should be considered in day-to-day activities and decisions.
- Actively pursues effective and efficient operations of his/her respective areas in accordance with Scotiabank’s Values, its Code of Conduct and the
- Global Sales Principles, while ensuring the adequacy, adherence to and effectiveness of day-to-day business controls to meet obligations with respect to operational, compliance, AML/ATF/sanctions and conduct risk.

- Primary Manager: Director, Global Onboarding Experience & Workforce Security Screening
- Direct Reports: Hire & Onboarding Advisors, Hire & Onboarding Consultant, Team Lead, Hire & Onboarding
Dimensions
- Responsible for coaching and developing direct reports (8-12)
- Responsible for meeting established Service Level Agreements (SLAs).
- Responsible for the onboarding for 22 Countries, ~81,000 employees and ~18,000 contractors
- Ensures business continuity for accountabilities under purview, ensuring coverage 5 days/week in assigned schedule
- Creates strong partnerships with business leaders and key stakeholders
- Act as an escalation point for any complex/unusual transactions
Education / Experience / Other Information
- Post-Secondary Degree in Human Resources or Business or pursuing an education in a related field.
- Relevant experience in resolving customer service requests.
- Experience leading a team with direct reports.
- Knowledge of employee data administration and end-to-end processes.
- Deep understanding and knowledge of Bank policies and procedures.
- Strong computer application skills: Microsoft Excel, Microsoft Word, Adobe Acrobat.
- Experience in Reporting & Analytics and Power BI is an asset
- Strong knowledge of organizational structure and complexity.
- Proven teamwork capabilities; strong relationship management and interpersonal skills.
- Attentive to details and deadlines; ability to manage multiple priorities.
- Experience in conflict/issue resolution.
