About The Role

We are seeking a data-driven, strategic, and operationally-minded Senior Manager to drive Workforce Planning & Analytics within our Inbound Operations team. In this role, you will be responsible for delivering workforce efficiency and operational excellence across multiple inbound operations sub-functions including Receiving, Authentication, Photography, Customer Returns Putaway and Quality. This role will lead headcount forecasting, capacity planning, SLA and UPH (Units per Hour) performance tracking, and workforce modeling to support business growth and attainment of unit economic targets.

As a key cross-functional partner to Operations leaders, Finance, People, and Business Intelligence teams, you will help shape workforce strategy and enable real-time, data-informed decision making at both the strategic and executional levels.

Workforce Planning & Optimization

  • Design and implement short- and long-range labor forecasting models based on throughput expectations, seasonal supply fluctuations, and SLA goals.
  • Develop functional-based labor models that align labor to business drivers across all Inbound operations functions.
  • Own weekly and monthly operational labor reviews with senior stakeholders, highlighting trends, gaps, and opportunities to optimize labor planning and execution.
  • Champion standard work and SOP alignment across sites to improve scalability and performance consistency.

Analytics & Reporting

  • Build and maintain dashboards, performance metrics, and analytics to support real-time labor utilization, UPH, SLA attainment, cost-per-unit tracking, and other KPIs.
  • Conduct variance analysis between forecasted vs. actuals and identify drivers impacting operational productivity or cost inefficiencies.
  • Partner with Business Intelligence and Systems teams to automate and enhance data pipelines, reporting tools, and labor planning systems.

Financial Forecasting & Cost Modeling

  • Collaborate with Finance on headcount planning, productivity modeling, and budget development to support labor-related forecasts.
  • Develop driver-based forecasting tools that tie labor inputs to variable and fixed cost assumptions, supporting unit economic efficiency targets.

Cross-Functional Collaboration

  • Act as a strategic advisor to on-the-ground Operations leaders, providing insights and labor models to support daily, weekly, and seasonal staffing needs.
  • Partner with HR and Talent Acquisition to identify workforce gaps, improve staffing strategies (including full-time, part-time, and contingent labor), and support hiring plans.
  • Collaborate with IT, Product, and Engineering teams to align technology investments with workforce optimization goals.

Team Leadership & Cross-Functional Partnership

  • Directly manage and mentor an Operations Analyst, providing guidance on workload prioritization, analytical rigor, and career development.
  • Oversee the quality and timeliness of analytical deliverables, ensuring alignment with operational goals and leadership expectations.
  • Collaborate with peer managers across Inbound Operations, Strategy and Planning to define project ownership, establish shared operating rhythms, and provide structure to cross-functional initiatives.

What You Bring To The Role

Minimum Requirements:

  • 7+ years of experience in workforce planning, labor analytics, or operations strategy, ideally within ecommerce, logistics, or supply chain environments.
  • A minimum of 2 years managing others within a strategic planning or workforce analytics domain
  • Proven track record in developing and executing headcount models and workforce strategies that drive measurable improvements in cost, SLA, and productivity.
  • Advanced analytical skills with experience using SQL, Excel, Looker, Tableau, or similar BI tools to model data and generate insights.
  • Strong business acumen with the ability to influence senior leadership through data storytelling and evidence-based recommendations.
  • Bachelor's degree in transferable field

Preferred:

  • Master’s degree in a quantitative or business discipline (e.g., MS in Analytics, MBA, or similar)
  • Experience working with workforce or labor management systems (e.g., Workday, Kronos, Reflexis, BlueYonder).
  • Experience working in high-volume, fast-paced environments with seasonal or demand-driven operational surges.

The expected salary range for this role is $-$. To determine starting pay we carefully consider a variety of factors, including primary work location and an evaluation of a candidate’s skills, experience, market demands, and internal parity.
