Pay Range*: $29.76/hr - $43.16/hr

Position Summary

This position is responsible for applying codes in the EHR for all Emergency Room type accounts. Code assignment is based on ICD-10-CM Official Guidelines for Coding and Reporting and CPT. Ensure Department of Health Care Access and Information (HCAI) data elements are accurate.

Essential Functions and Responsibilities of the Job

1. Meets quality standards for ICD-10-CM and CPT code assignment.
2. Codes from only compliant documentation.
3. Maintains productivity standards to ensure A/R Day goals are met/exceeded.
4. Follows company policies, procedures, and directives.
5. Maintains required coding credentials.
6. Other duties as assigned.

• Placement in the pay range is based on multiple factors including, but not limited to, relevant years of experience and qualifications. Qualifications

Minimum Requirements

Qualifications/Work Experience:

• One or more years’ experience coding ICD-10-CM and CPT coding in an acute care hospital emergency room required.
• Successful completion of an accredited coding program.

Education/Licensure/Certification:

• One of the following credentials required. AHIMA: CCS/RHIT/RHIA or AAPC: COC/CEDC
