Maintenance Technician position is based in Suffolk, PA and involves responsibilities such as HVAC, plumbing, electrical work, and general property maintenance and upkeep. Additionally, the Maintenance Technician will manage maintenance systems to ensure optimal operations and client/tenant satisfaction in accordance with department protocols.

Maintenance Technician Responsibilities:

  • Complete work orders for tasks related to the physical maintenance and repairs of assigned buildings, utilizing work order-related software programs.
  • Implement routine physical improvements.
  • Respond to emergencies in accordance with departmental protocols.
  • Assist the Supervisor in establishing and maintaining equipment, tools, supplies, inventories, and logs.
  • Assist with controlling expenses associated with building operations.
  • Communicate building status and changes effectively to the appropriate individuals.
  • Adhere to all safety standards, policies, procedures, codes of conduct, and best practices.
  • Act in a professional and courteous manner at all times with tenants, hospital clients, co-workers, vendors, and patients.
  • Utilize materials, supplies, tools, and other building property safely and productively.
  • Perform other duties and special projects as assigned.

Maintenance Technician Requirements:

  • 2+ years of related work experience and technical training.
  • High school diploma or GED required; technical school training in maintenance-related courses is preferred.
  • Ability to understand and interpret design documents, manufacturer’s specifications, and written operational procedures.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills to ensure teamwork and positive client/tenant/co-worker relations.
  • Ability to take directions and follow instructions.
  • Must be safety-conscious.
  • Ability to organize and prioritize tasks to ensure accuracy and timely completion.
  • Basic aptitude for mathematics.
  • Participation in an on-call rotation for 24-hour emergency response.
  • Capable of extensive walking, climbing stairs and ladders, and lifting/carrying a minimum of 50 pounds with proper body mechanics
  • Willingness to work overtime on special projects as required.
  • Must have a valid driver’s license and reliable transportation.
  • Basic computer skills and the ability to learn new job-related software.
  • Knowledge of tools and their proper use.
  • Local travel between properties required.
