The Kaczorowski lab is looking to fill a positions for a Research Lab Technician (Associate/Intermediate/Lead) A full-time research technician position is available in the Kaczorowski lab in the Department of Neurology at the University of Michigan Medical School in Ann Arbor, Michigan Kaczorowski Lab (umich.edu). We are seeking a laboratory technician with experience in rodent handling and molecular biology techniques to work on exciting projects involving rodent modeling of neurodegenerative diseases, including Alzheimer's disease and Huntington's disease.
This position is term limited to 2 years.
The successful candidate will participate in animal handling, animal behavior assays, mouse genotyping, immunohistochemistry, and assisting with the management of transgenic mouse colonies. In addition, they will supervise and help train undergraduate research assistants and junior technicians in the lab. We are looking for someone that has the aptitude to learn new techniques, works well with others, and possesses strong critical thinking skills.

This position may be underfilled at a lower classification depending on the qualifications of the selected candidate.
This is a 2 year term-limited appointment. At the end of the stated term, your appointment will terminate, and you will not be eligible for Reduction-in-Force (RIF) benefits. This term-limited appointment does not create a contract or guarantee of employment for any period of time as you will remain subject to disciplinary or other performance measures, up to and including termination, at the will of the University in accordance with existing University policy and standards for employee performance and conduct.
