Materials Tech Analyst
This position(s) will be responsible for managing telecommunications inventory for the Technology Organization (TO), system wide. Provide the appropriate replenishment analysis at approximately 25 stocking locations in multiple states across the Southern Company territory ensuring the appropriate supply of inventory is on hand for capital projects and for the emergency restoration of the TO infrastructure. Coordinate and provide oversight of all materials management and logistics to include procurement, shipping, receiving, stocking and tracking of inventory assets at the TO materials distribution center (TOMDC) located in Forest Park, GA. Ensure proper compliance and documentation as it relates to inventory management in accordance with SCS and SCM policies and procedures. Generate monthly reports in support of company accounting requirements. Interact with internal and external partners/customers, outside suppliers, vendors and repair facilities to oversee the accuracy of purchasing, pricing, delivery and service requests for inventory/equipment. Coordinate the Return Authorization process for telecommunications equipment being repaired or replaced. Provide analysis that tracks the failure rate of critical telecommunications equipment during a defined period. Provide the appropriate analysis on when parts are replaced under warranty or repaired versus the purchase of new equipment. Coordinate with TO on new and changing product lines.
