Senior Systems Engineer (VLC)

ADI’s Medical Product Group is developing novel remote monitoring solutions that improve patient care and quality of life for some of the most vulnerable populations. The Medical Products Group is looking for an energetic, Senior Systems Engineer to join their team in Valencia, Spain, for the development, verification & validation (V&V) of novel solutions to some of the most challenging issues in the areas of sensing and product development. This role requires excellent systems thinking/ understanding and close teamwork with hardware + firmware + software & Quality/ Regulatory teams.

Job Description:

  • Work within the broader Systems Engineering team to turn product/ standards requirements into clear technical system specifications that can be tested against.
  • Must gain familiarity with various medical standards (IEC 60601, IEC62304, ISO14971) and FDA regulations for medical device development and apply that to Risk Analysis, FMEAs, etc.
  • Identifying relevant metrics, deriving specifications, and defining data analysis procedures for product & risk evaluation, including statistical analysis.
  • Perform Risk and Hazard Analyses for sub-systems that are a combination of hardware and software.
  • Evaluation of new medical products, working within a multi-functional team to identify, simulate, and correct functional and parametric problems.
  • Support execution of verification plans and protocols. The role is a mix of system/ software development and lab work.

Requisite Skills & Experience:

  • 2 – 4 years of experience developing complex products involving hardware (electrical & mechanical) and software.
  • Well versed in at least two technical disciplines e.g., software, electrical, mechanical, embedded, and/or bio-medical engineering.
  • An intellectually agile engineer who is always thinking of the deliverable as an entire solution rather than a portioned product.
  • Proficiency in MATLAB, SysML or other high level modeling tools and/ or proficiency in programming languages such as Python, C/ C++/ C# and shell scripting
  • Thorough and meticulous with an eye for detail and excellent documentation habits.
  • Clarity in communication as this role involves interaction with various disciplines (software developers, hardware engineers and Regulatory/ Quality).
  • Should be willing to learn & not be afraid of getting your hands dirty.
  • Minimum of a BS degree in Computer, Electrical, BioMedical or Systems Engineering.

Nice to have:

  • Familiarity of Medical Device standards e.g. IEC 62304/ ISO14971 (nice to have: IEC 60601).
