The Distribution Sr. Operations Manager will provide Leadership and organizational and project management to support distribution operations across all franchises and operating departments within the Medical Device organization. They will be responsible to the lead the execution of continuous improvement activities such as Lean/Six Sigma projects, cost improvement, inventory/operations, metrics development, tracking, and solution development implementation. Strategy development and execution is done in collaboration with the 3PL service provider and Commercial Partners.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead the day-to-day operations management (strategic &tactical), support and correspondences of the 3 major JnJ Business Franchises serviced by MLC DC
  • Leads a team of 4-6 team members, in support of 3pl execution. Providing leadership, coaching, mentoring, development, and performance driven feedback to achieve customer promise.
  • Manages multiple projects around Lean/Six Sigma projects, cost improvement projects, and inventory/operations metrics development, tracking, and solution development and implementation.
  • Oversees day-to-day warehouse workflow, in 3PL execution.
  • Ensure business analysis of production/inventory data to support Process Excellence activity, and drives Inventory/Operations scorecards for cost, quality, inventory, and other metrics are executed and actions taken to improve site performance.
  • Partners with multiple Supply Chain functions to drive strategic/tactical initiatives for business growth and optimization.
  • Drives S&OE/S&OP processes through engagement of 3pl partners and Functional stakeholders.
  • Leads internal and external benchmarking and assessment of distribution innovation and standard methodologies.
  • Leads the optimization and efficiency of the movement of goods through the supply pipeline, monitor current processes, identify, and analyze gaps, and develop process improvements. With focus on transportation, distribution and process change initiatives.
  • Ability to conduct what-if analysis / build scenario models by performing extensive data mining, working with complex databases, and understanding data source structures.
  • Provide active leadership bridging the interpersonal structures between Deliver and related Functional Stakeholders. Other Business Enterprises may be added through acquisition.
  • Ensure CAPAs and NCs to implement corrective and preventive actions Leads and or participates in departmental/divisional/cross-company projects as assigned.
  • Ensures all quality actions/ GMP/ SOX related actions and processes are executed on time.
  • Regularly communicates in all directions to keep associates, peers, and management informed of project status, process changes, and opportunities.
  • Completes all other tasks/projects as assigned by management.

Qualifications:

Education:

  • A minimum of a bachelor’s degree in supply chain & Logistics, Business or a related subject area is required. MBA is a plus.

Skills and Experience:

Required:

  • A minimum of 8 years of relevant superior management experience in Supply Chain, logistics, & Distribution Center Operations.
  • Project Management experience
  • Advanced Excel experience and the ability to manipulate big data.
  • Process Excellence (Lean/Six-Sigma), certification strongly desired

Preferred:

  • 3PL experience
  • Process, Agile Operations and Quality driven approach.
  • Healthcare experience working in a GMP environment.
  • SAP and SQL experience.

Other:

Requires up to 10% domestic travel, and will be required to be onsite in Memphis, TN. This is Primarily a 1st shift position but will be required to work on multiple shift's base on business-critical needs.
