Senior Engineer, Software located in Bothell, WA will be responsible for design, development, and delivery of Cloud native applications.

Position duties and responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Design and development of critical components within the cloud native application to drive end-to-end business outcomes and enhance our platform's capabilities by collaborating across teams and services.
  • Develop SOAP and REST based Microservices and design pub/sub systems to meet business requirements.
  • Strong Software Engineering fundamentals in data structures, algorithm design, problem solving, source code management, unit testing, and CI/CD pipelines.
  • Analyze production and operational issues, troubleshoot and coordinate with teams for issue resolution and provide the fix while working with business and technical teams.
  • Ensure that code adheres to strict standards for accessibility, scalability, usability, security, object-oriented practices, performance, and policies defined by T-Mobile.
  • Support and mentor junior team members in design techniques and best practices for coding, testing, release/deploy process, and documentation.
  • Responsible for process-oriented execution of project using agile methodology which includes participation in daily stand-up meetings, sprint planning, user story refinement, application design, implementation, code reviews, testing, QA support, technical documentation, and sprint retrospective.
  • Create proof of concepts for new technologies.
  • Ensure that products, applications, and systems are following established quality standards and meet customer requirements.
  • Participate in hiring the best talent for the domain & also retain the talent within the domain.
  • Telecommuting is permitted, but applicants must live within a reasonable commuting distance. No additional national or international travel is anticipated.

Skill requirements:

  • (1) Working with containerized apps using cloud technology including Cloud foundry, spring boot, JAVA, Python, GO, API Developer portal, webservice frameworks, Kubernetes, and Docker.
  • (2) Developing both DTMF and speech applications using IVR technologies including: Cisco Voice Browser, Verbio Text to Speech, Speech to Text, and Virtual Voice Assistant.
  • (3) Working with NoSQL architecture such as Redis and messaging services such as Kafka, and SQL Server commands/packages to create/manipulate the data in Database management system.
  • (4) Designing complex multi-tiered applications with scalable web technologies including REST, SOAP, JSON, XML and services virtualization using TestNg and Selenium.
  • (5) Using Splunk/Grafana/Prometheus for Logging, Reporting, Monitoring, Debugging and Troubleshooting the issue.
  • (6) Utilizing DevOps, Agile, Jenkins and continuous integration practices and platforms to implement, maintain, and improve continuous integration and continuous delivery processes.

Experience and education requirements:

PRIMARY REQUIREMENTS: Master’s degree in Electronic Engineering or related, or its foreign equivalent, and 3 years of relevant work experience.

ALTERNATIVE REQUIREMENTS: Bachelor’s degree in Electronic Engineering or related, or its foreign equivalent, and 5 years of relevant work experience.

OTHER: Work hours: 40 hours/week. Washington Pay Range: $190,486.00 to $199,900.00/year.

The pay range above is the general base pay range for a successful candidate in the state listed. The successful candidate’s actual pay will be based on various factors, such as work location, qualifications, and experience.

At T-Mobile, employees in regular, non-temporary roles are eligible for an annual bonus or periodic sales incentive or bonus, based on their role. Most Corporate employees are eligible for a year-end bonus based on company and/or individual performance and which is set at a percentage of the employee’s eligible earnings in the prior year. Certain positions in Customer Care are eligible for monthly bonuses based on individual and/or team performance, while Retail and Business Sales roles are eligible for monthly or quarterly sales incentives.
